So... this is a pretty blatant plot ripoff of the "Dies the Fire" fantasy series written by S.M. Stirling.

This is what is holding me back from watching. I do not want to invest in a show, only to have it cancelled with no ending. I might start watching if they announce a renewal for a second season.
