its amazing how some of these guys survive on their name to the general NFL fan base even though the player is beyond its years

I want to gouge my eyes out already....and its February. Yes, there will be a thread about EVERY SINGLE ONE.

No thanks.

This is something Chiefs fans will always struggle with...

They will over pay for something that has a shelf life of 3-5 years if you are lucky...

You never over pay for a running back. This is the easiest postion on the field to replace...

Hes older than dirt, but i guess he would be ok in a backup role. He can still play, hes had 8 straight seasons of 1000 yards. Hes also a decent reciever. We could do worse and have......but im not gonna lose any sleep over whether we get him or not.

Molitoth 02-12-2013 08:20 AM

We need to be grooming someone to take over for Charles, not picking up guys who are older than Charles.

Jackson has over 10,000 rushing yards and 3300 receiving yards in eight years on some truly shit Rams teams. He's only 29 so some of the "he sucks and is old as dirt" stuff is a little over the top.

That said, I would prefer that the Chiefs went with younger backs to back up Charles.

29 is old for RB's

What a waste of money he would be, its completely unnecessary to go get a back like him.

Theres a dirt cheap, young free agent out there somewhere who'd be perfect to add to our depth with Gray and Draughn.

A back is waaay down the priority list this year.

He's taken a severe beating over the years. He could fall off the cliff at any moment.

Oh hell no.

Not only do I hate used up RBs, but used up power backs? Run! Run as fast as you can away from that idea.

RB is a young man's game. You get your RBs mid to late in the draft. Use them up as much as possible and when they approach 30? Cut them lose and do it over again with a new rookie.

He could or he might not.

I'm not saying I want the Chiefs to pick him up. His days as a #1 are probably over but some RB hungry team (Lions maybe?) will pick him up as a #2. I think he has a couple of decent years in him in that role.

Actually, I think he would be a good fit for the Lions.
Although I'd have to look more into his pass blocking skills, but I'd think with his size, he would be good in pass protection.

He's a good pass protector. Actually, with his blocking and receiving skills, he would make a good 3rd down back despite his size.

I could see him going to San Diego too.

The thing about SD and Detroit is that he'd ultimately end up being the #1 both places...

KC_Lee 02-12-2013 09:42 AM

I'm suprised that Fisher has not run him into the ground yet.
