You'll be one of them. I like the project, but also as important, I like the fact that you're a ****ing high school kid putting this kind of work, and effort into something clearly near and dear to your heart. I am not trying to put you on front street by advertising that you're a teenager, but I want to make sure people understand the scope of this thing. Not only the progress you've made for these kids, but the progress you're making for yourself.

I admire it. A great deal. And I want to see it succeed on a variety of levels. If you haven't gotten some cash from me by summer time (I'm off work for the next 3 months, so it's not even an option right now) I want you to remind me. I'm not blowing smoke up your ass here. I'll try to start off with $500 so you know I'm serious. Keep it up!

1 more thing. While I agree with Phil that Another brick in Nepal is going to go over people's heads, I personally LOVE it.

Oh my gosh. I am unsure how I missed this. A car accident, a blindsiding breakup and a horrendous semester caused me to fall by the wayside for a while, and I can not express how sorry I am about that.

Flop, your support is an absolute godsend. We are about just about to kick off our sponsor a classroom campaign for the next semester. A donation of $500 will allow you to put your name on a classroom of the new SAV School. The money we're shooting for in the campaign ($6000) will be enough for us to build a new classroom when we travel to the school next summer.

(Here's a prototype image for our new campaign, I apologize that it's not in a higher resolution).

Flop, thank you.

Thank you! It's part of a major rollout we'll be doing on both KU and (hopefully) KSU's campuses in the coming semester. Five of our leading members are at KU, while we have a KSU freshman who intends on spreading our efforts to Manhattan in the coming year.

Here's another sneak peak at our facebook cover photo design:

That's great. Your project is really coming along.

Is there a tentative construction timeline?

Three of the classrooms are going to be constructed by October, while the school itself is aiming to accept their first students in January. We are hoping to travel to the area in June to complete another classroom that should allow the school to accept every available student in the area.

That's great. Sounds like you are going to make a big difference in their community.

How can people continue to help after the school is built?

Mr. Flopnuts 08-17-2014 04:08 PM

I absolutely love watching young Americans organize, and work this hard to try and make a positive impact on the world. Chiefspants is someone who should be applauded for his tireless work to try and make the world a better place. I'm going to throw a sticky on this thread tonight during the game to try and get his organization some attention, hopefully some financial help, and the credit that he and his peers deserve for being such upstanding members of our society.

God bless you Chiefspants. This is GREAT work that you are doing, sir!

Damn man. You're a much better person than I was at your age. Better than me now even. Props to you. Great work.

To anyone who can contribute, this would mean the world to me and a classroom of children in Nepal. :)
