Andy Reid's 1st rnd pick history...

Need. More. Football. Topics.

Old article...but let's talk about what Andy has done in previous years with the 1st rnd pick...

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...-andy-reid-era

He has drafted 2 WR's in the 1st....does he go that route again? Or does he stick with the OL/DL where he tends to go most?

I thought Dorsey had main control? I thought that's something Reid was excited about...coming here to strictly coach and let someone ales make those decisions.

Mr_Tomahawk 03-06-2014 10:24 PM

Maybe.

But let's pretend Andy makes the call for the same of the thread...

This

Don't matter what Andy did

He will be eating jack stack while Dorsey makes a terrible pick, much like last year ROFL

He does

"But occasionally, even the most mundane question can bring forth a revealing answer, and that’s exactly what happened when Chiefs coach Andy Reid was asked Wednesday if he buys into the hype regarding this being the deepest draft in 20 years.

Reid waited only a split second before answering. He literally could not do it fast enough.

“Uh, I’m probably not deep enough into it, myself,” Reid said, quickly. “That might be a question you ask Dorse tomorrow. But it looks like there’s some good football players.”

Dorse, of course, is Chiefs general manager John Dorsey, the man who allows Reid to focus on football in a way he wasn’t able to during the last several years of his 14-year run as Philadelphia’s head coach, which came to an end after the Eagles went 4-12 in 2012.

“I loved doing it when I did it,” Reid said. “I understand the time commitment and when I was doing that, it took away from the football part of it. I kind of gave up a little bit to do that, football-wise. So now I’m more football-wise and less in the personnel department.”

So when asked about personnel matters with the Chiefs both large and small, Reid has been quick to refer to Dorsey. It’s Reid’s way of making it clear who runs the show and displaying his faith in Dorsey’s draft-centric approach to team building. The two worked together, albeit in different roles, during 1992-98 in Green Bay, which won a Super Bowl in 1997.

“I’ve got a lot of trust in John, No. 1,” Reid said. “Really, that’s the format (owner) Clark (Hunt) wanted, just a general manager doing personnel and the head coach being the head coach.

Ok then...

Did "Dorse" play a role in GB's draft? And if so, what were their 1st rnd picks by positions like during his tenure up there?

I don't think Dorsey will go WR in the 1st...

Clay Matthews was a good pick too.

That's about it, the offensive tackles GB took have been injury prone and useless for them. They are about to let BJ Raji walk, so I mean, what's your definition of a good first round pick? AJ Hawk? would you be happy if the Chiefs drafted an AJ Hawk type first rounder? No thanks. So I guess they hit on 2 picks. BJ Raji to them seems to be our version of Tyson Jackson, but a little bit better. GB lacks a lot of talent in the trenches, a playmaker in the backend. The QB carries that team with the WRs, after that, it's slop.

Mr_Tomahawk 03-06-2014 10:38 PM

He will go DE.

mcaj22 03-06-2014 10:40 PM

I'd say dline or oline if I had to guess. (whichever side of the ball they dont get a serviceable veteran FA at.)

tecumseh 03-06-2014 10:54 PM

My guess would be DE. My hope is Dorsey will sign an FA DE and S freeing up the draft ,WR in the first.

Mother****erJones 03-06-2014 11:05 PM

He'll go WR

Chief_For_Life58 03-06-2014 11:26 PM

oline
