If at some point someone needs a QB, I got Schaub and a guy who graded out perfectly yesterday on my roster. I need RB. That is all.

Wish you had something on your roster that worked for me.

Yeah, because I'd trade for him. But I knew I didn't have anything you'd want that I'd want to give up for him. I'm pretty thin in a few areas.

Sorry man, with the loss of Jackson this weekend and now the news on Jennings' groin I just can't pull the trigger.

Annnnnnnnnd I lost both of them.

In my money league.....I had the 3rd highest score of the week. Too bad I played the guy who had the 2nd.

DeezNutz 09-11-2012 02:25 PM

Who was the highest scoring team in week 1?

The Franchise 09-11-2012 09:48 PM

Maybe OTWP or Sofa can answer this for me....

I could have sworn it worked like this.

Team A bids $40 for a player. Team B bids $35 for the same player. Team A would win and pay $36 for the player.

Am I wrong? Do I not have something set up correctly in my league? Because the same situation just happened and it made Team A pay $40 for the player.

Something is definitely wrong with the bidding. I've tried bidding for the same guy 3 times and they never award him to me.

I just figured i was screwing something up.

You're wrong.

FAAB auctions do not work like Dutch auctions (your bid goes up to the highest amount necessary) rather they work like silent bid auctions - if you win, you pay what you bid.

So in the scenario you posted, Team A pays $40 because he won the bid with that figure. It encourages intelligent, but not reckless, bidding. Otherwise you'd just bid over what you think his actual value is and let the Dutch Bid bail your ass out.

DJ is 100% correct.

Hootie and Deez also outbid you. Each one by at least $30.

Just call yourself Scott Pioli, dude. You run your fantasy team just like him.

What was Hoot at? I honestly thought $41 would do it, but apparently I wasn't sniffing the acquisition.
