Had enough of Doug Martin and Fitz

Shipped them out today for Calvin and Jonathan Stewart, who I think is going to get most of the carries now in Carolina.

Fitz is just too inconsistent with that QB situation.

Now I have Brady, McCoy and Calvin. I'm ready to do some work.

DaKCMan AP 10-24-2012 07:51 AM

McCoy needs to start stepping it up. He has not lived up to the #8 overall selection (where I drafted him) thus far.

Ceej 10-24-2012 07:54 AM

I've been waiting on Megatron to do something all damn year.

The Bad Guy 10-24-2012 08:06 AM

Megatron will. I have no doubts about that. Fitzgerald is just maddening because one week he'll give you 20, next 5, next 15, next 4. The QB position has ruined him.

Martin is now in a pretty full timeshare where he gets zero goal line touches. I think his stock is dwindling. Sans a 45 yard run last week against the shitbag Saints, he's done next to nothing all year.

They're saying that Blount is getting pulled off of the goalline work because he sucks at it.

This. Blount practically cost them the game when he went 0 for 3 from the 1 last week. At least that’s what I’m hoping – martin is my only option left at RB now that Trent Richardson will be a very questionable option the next 2 weeks before CLE’s bye.

I also missed out on the Rashad Jennings sweepstakes despite having the 2nd waiver pick for the first time ever.

I was thinking about trying to trade Calvin for McCoy or another RB1 – I’ve got an idea on a sleeper WR.

The Franchise 10-24-2012 09:39 AM

I have to start Doug Martin because my other RBs are Jamaal Charles, Stevan Ridley, Jonathan Stewart, Rashad Jennings and Kendall Hunter.

I'll believe it when I see it. They kept feeding him last week and he's rotating in about every 6 plays with Martin.

There's a lot of reports this week that Stewart's getting the primary workload, so we'll see.

He had 5 attempts for -2 last week and 3 of those attempts were back to back to back at the goal against one of the worst defenses in the league. That was actually the game we were watching in the gameroom on the big screen and the Blount owner in our league(who was forced to start him due to byes) said that's it I'm cutting that fat pos tonight.

Dude.....Ridley is iffy from week to week. Stewart hasn't fully taken over the starting RB role and Jennings is an unknown commodity with a shit QB.

Charles and Martin are my best backs right now.

You would be a moron not to start Jennings this week. And I guess I hold Ridley in higher regard than you, because I’d rather start him than Martin, maybe even Charles.

The Franchise 10-24-2012 04:17 PM

So you'd rather go Ridley and Jennings than Charles and Martin?

The Bad Guy 10-24-2012 05:00 PM

I'm probably the wrong person to give advice about Martin about. I hate his situation. He should have been producing big numbers behind that line, instead he's like Donnell Bennett.

The last two weeks......he's had Carl Nicks back.

It's still not enough carries. 4 yard per carry average is ok, but the 2 touchdowns is atrocious for a starting RB.

I'm glad I'm done with him. Stewart, I think will outproduce him moving forward.

*cough*

The Bad Guy 10-25-2012 09:16 PM

Tough one but I don't regret the move.

Skyy God 10-25-2012 09:51 PM

Stewart will outproduce exactly dick going forward

Bump 10-25-2012 10:50 PM

I got a nice 32 points out of Mr. Martin this week!!!! Good start

Yeah, I’ll take it like a man for this little gem. I still like Jennings, but Martin went HAM last night. (Good thing I started him)

The Bad Guy 10-26-2012 08:18 PM

In a perfect world, wish I would have waited to deal him a week later, but I think Stewart and Calvin have huge games this week and their value would have increased as well.

I've been sitting on J-Stew for 4 years. What makes you think he will have a huge game?

Working out exceptionally poorly this far.

I scored 150 this week and won. Calvin had his worst game in a while and Stewart will get the lion share of carries now.

I'll re-evaluate this in about 5 weeks, but I'm happy with where I'm at. Fitzgerald is being wasted by the Cardinals with that QB situation and I'm glad I don't have to deal with it anymore.

The Franchise 10-30-2012 09:54 AM

Stewart didn't do too bad. 21 carries for 80 yards against that Bears defense is alright by me. From here on out his schedule isn't to bad......running defense wise.

Yeah, except DeAngelo isn't tradeable and Ron Rivera is coaching for his job. He has absolutely no commitment to Stewart as the starter.

And Williams came in and did exactly jack shit. The Panthers know that there best bet for a starting RB is Stewart.

Except Williams had a higher YPC than Stewart. And they're both averaging around 3.5 for the year.

They're basically interchangeable shitty RBs.

The Bad Guy 11-04-2012 05:50 PM

I'm an asshole. I'm too quick to pull the trigger.

OnTheWarpath15 11-04-2012 05:53 PM

Best two week trade of my life. Traded Fred Jackson for Doug Martin.

75 points later and counting...

I'm going to win my money league thanks to Martin, and lose the CP Auction League because of Martin.

Skyy God 11-04-2012 06:09 PM

Hindsight is 50/50. ;)

Bump 11-04-2012 06:26 PM

lol that trade was a fail of epic proportions.

Truthfully was. As I've grown older, I've gotten more panic stricken over a bad week or 2.

It's ****ing hilarious that I shipped him out prior to this. Plus, I played him in the league I traded him in, so it was like a double headed dildo to the ass.

Thankfully, I do own him in 2 other leagues, but the one league I'm going to be 2-7 so woopie ****ing doo.

I'm #1 in a 10 team league. Only due to a 6-3 record. (lots of 5-4's with a higher point total) Playing a guy with Martin, he can't do it again, can he? SD's got a pretty stout run D... and you know they'll be keying on him.

As a Martin owner, I’m hoping that Freeman’s chemistry with Williams and Jackson will keep defenses from focusing on the run. Ya know…the opposite of the Chiefs.
