Chiefs bringing back Jeff Allen

The running game is about to get a shot in the arm.

Wonder what this means for Mitch Morse's concussion

Could be more about the loss of LDT. Or a backup/replacement for Erving at LG.

Rain Man 10-16-2018 09:09 AM

This is unexpected.

RunKC 10-16-2018 09:10 AM

Morse is out with a concussion for awhile and LDT is done. Our depth is basically Devey and Wylie bc McKenzie is not ready.

Allen is a good move IMO. Cheap, knows our system and can perform well.

Houston Texans
On March 9, 2016, Allen signed a four-year contract with the Houston Texans.

On May 11, 2018, Allen was placed on the reserve/physically unable to perform list after dealing with concussions and ankle injuries. On July 13, 2018, Allen was released by the Texans with an injury settlement.

It does seem like a good move. I just hope Morse can come back sooner rather than later.

Also, I wonder when McKenzie will be ready... because I've heard good things.

I like this. I always liked Allen when he was here, and he's a solid, solid player in the run game. If he's healthy, this is a good pickup.

He's also a fantastic Twitter follow and has been a Chiefs fan online since his injury.

Hope he's healthy, but I suppose it's good news that he wasn't let go because he sucked.

ptlyon 10-16-2018 09:14 AM

Does he get his old locker back?

I bet he's got a hidden snickers or something somewhere in there.

Sweeping Zombo, Parker, Allen from the edges of my mind
Had to get away to see what we could find
Hope the days that lie ahead
Bring us back to where they've led
Listen not to what's been said to you

Would you know we're riding
On the Brokedick Express

All on board that train

Jeff Allen makes Eric Berry look like a bastion of good health.
