Holy balls stuff ain't cheap

So the wife and I just bought a house last month (hooray a mortgage), now we are furnishing it.

Holy shit why didn't any of you warn me with how much that costs?

I blame everyone here.

IKEA is your best friend (and sometimes, worst enemy)

SAUTO 04-17-2015 12:40 PM

And things seem to cost more every day

You have kids?

quality furniture these days is outrageous. We just bought all new bedroom furniture, not a mattress, just the wood. Hold shit. I love it, but damn we spent a lot of money.

Bugeater 04-17-2015 12:44 PM

Goodwill.

Damn you should be worrying about childcare before all else. $800 for one kid a month and you have two.

Yikes

Congrats, same scenario 6 months ago...
Got some good shit from ValueCity on the somewhat cheap.

MahiMike 04-17-2015 01:00 PM

IKEA, Goodwill, Craigslist. Furniture is way overpriced. Better to get quality stuff 2nd hand, IMO.

Wife works from home So thats not really an issue.

Plus she makes more than i do working from home, so I'm not too unhappy with it

RollChiefsRoll 04-17-2015 01:01 PM

Just throw all that stuff on an Ashley furniture card and make minimum payments forever. Screw it.

O.city 04-17-2015 01:04 PM

we bought furniture at ashley.

Luckily, as I just found out a minute ago, the wife hit a pretty large bonus at work so that will lessen the blow.

Also, thankfully I'm a spoiled only child so my parents bought some stuff for us

SAUTO 04-17-2015 01:07 PM

Who pays 800 a month per kid?

I've got a 2.5 year old that goes to the nicest daycare in town, people that own it were NFPA foster parents of the year and we only pay 90 bucks a week.

I would never want to live in the city again.
