Quality of recruits is going up. Switching to Heaps should help. The whole issue with Crist is pretty weird. I've had the good fortune to be friends with a couple of guys that were pretty close to the program, and they talked about Crist in practice, and said he was a beast, but apparently Kelly at ND just broke the kid's game confidence, so when game day came around, he just folded up like a cheap chair. Hope the same thing doesn't happen to Heaps.

cupcake non-con + few conference wins = chance at a bowl

It would be nice to be more competitive I conference games and hopefully eek out a few wins. Interested to see how Heaps does.

bowl game = extra practice time and more t.v. exposure

if Weis can improve the recruiting this much with ZERO exposure just think what he can do with a few wins on t.v.

improve the high school recruiting a little to help with the improved Juco

Not sucking would be nice :thumb:

BC, wanna post the recruits in the header so we can keep track?

Maybe the schedule too.

Added the schedule, tried to add the committed recruits, but it puked at me.

BTW, we're still in the hunt for Reeve Koehler, guess he wants to make an official visit to Arkansas. Interesting quote: "Lawrence Kansas to me, it was just a pretty shocking factor that it wasn't like Manhattan, Kansas. It was actually pretty nice. It felt pretty close to home".

I lol'd.

So are Pierson Sims and Cox all returning? I can't remember.

I believe Pierson is a sophomore and Sims and Cox are juniors. So the answer would be yes. :thumb:

Lots of immediate help in JUCO recruits. Jason Crabtree said on the radio yesterday that KU could be in the top 40 of recruiting rankings. KU has 7 of ESPN's top 100 JUCO recruits. Second year of Weis should see much more progress. A better QB situation with Heaps. All of those things combined leads me to believe that we will see major improvement.

Sorry but there's not much diff to me if KU wins one game or three . I suppose I'd watch a crap bowl game but I wouldn't expect non KU fans in the country to. The Orange was awesome but I doubt we have a team that good again in my lifetime

It's just the next step ...

Then hopefully the year after that we can improve the strength of our non-con, pull an upset or 2 and keep the momentum moving forward.

LA Tech isn't a cupcake. That game could tell you a lot about how the season is going to go.

Good news from Lawrence. Rock Chalk Park was approved by the City of Lawrence last night, 4-1. Look for the KU Relays to be held there in 2014. Look for the TRACK to be out of Memorial Stadium as early as Fall of 2014!!!

Prison Bitch 01-09-2013 12:14 PM

Why does that track bother people so much? Do people focus on the track Instead of the play? I doubt that. Besides what will they do , cover it up? Plant grass there? The stadium is too old to re-slope the stands so getting rid of the track does not move the field closer to fans
