It's finally here... Fahrenheit 451

I assumed this was the one 'movie/show' that would never get done as it hits so close to home in our era.

Is an HBO production to boot, so let the counting of days commence :thumb:

Really looking forward to that, since I love the book and was always a bit disappointed by the Truffaut version (except for the final scene by the river when the snow begins falling).

thru school, the only two books i was forced to read that i liked were 'of mice and men' and 'fahrenheit 451' :thumb:

One of the only School books that I enjoyed reading.

Could that trailer have been any less informative?

It's a dystopian story about books (and reading material in general) being banned. The title is a reference to the temperature needed to catch a book on fire. As I recall there are 'firemen' in the story who use fire as a weapon to destroy rather than having the job of putting fires out.

The movie "Equilibrium" with Christian Bale always kind of reminded me of F451.

I think there should be some similarities.

The new version should have them burning iPhones.

Did no one else read 1984?

And I doubt this gets made without modern politics injected into it.

I can't wait to hear how Clinton/Trump order the burning of books...

Definitely some similarities. Equilibrium was goofy but fun. Probably qualifies as a guilty pleasure.
