A wise choice. Had I known this series was going to be filled with such awesomeness, I would have done the same (finished the audio books before season 1).

The books are filled with such detail that you can see in the show where they have to leave out some of that, and sometimes it gives a type of bouncy feel to those that have read or know the series. Going into these shows not knowing anything would be the way to go, if given the chance.

I loved how they titled the episodes 'Two Swords' leaving you to ponder whether it referred to the two new Lannister swords made in the episodes, or the two Stark swords that began and ended the episode.

ok - maybe I'm being especially dense on this, but which two "Stark" swords are left?

Needle and Longclaw?

Ice (ned's sword) was melted down at the beginning, into the two Lannister swords, and Needle was of course with Arya at the end.

I suppose Longclaw could count, although it was a Mormont sword before being given to Jon.

Ned's Broadsword is the first thing we see, even if it's summarily destroyed and Needle is the last.

The guy that originally played him took a role in a new transporter movie and left the show.

verbaljitsu 04-07-2014 02:25 PM

Regarding last night's episode, let's not forget the other guy Arya brutally killed - slowwwwwwwly inserting that longsword into his chest while he was helpless on the floor.

Eeshk.
