Bought Forza Horizon, XCOM & Fifa 13 for $65 while listening to Action Bronson and watching football.

I'm not trying to fight feral animals to the death over some videogames.

I went to Wal-Mart and fought the feral animals at the video game pallet and came out with what I went to get.

Is $79.99 for the Nook Color (8gb) a good deal for someone who just wants it to watch a few movies on an aircraft, surf the web briefly and occasionally read an e-book on it?

Can you add your own content on it or does it have to be purchased through the B&N store?

There really aren't any mind blowing deals this year.

Leap Pad 2 vs sub$100 Android tablet for an almost 4 yo girl. What say you? Leap Pad apps will be more educational, but I think they all cost. Plus there's probably more flexibility/capability with the Android...any advice welcomed.

Android tablet will grow with her. Well, if it's not outdated in a year or two.

I agree, it seems like the better deal to me. Definitely leaning that way.

Thanks.

Android. That's what we do for my own 2yr old. He learns an amazing amount from all kinds of free apps.

"Kid Mode" is the one you want, there . are tons of apps you can add to it, videos, and they give you a new free app weekly. It also "locks" them in the program so that they can't mess with your stuff. We have it on our tablets and phones, for car rides and "emergencies"

Dr. Gigglepants 11-28-2012 10:21 AM

Went with the Coby Kryos 7034-4 for $75.

Thanks for the input, all.

It doesn't have an Apple logo on it. Those little emblems are expensive.
