PATRICK MAHOMES

NFL, USA

DOMINANCE RATING: 0.829

There has simply never been a quarterback as prolific, this early in his career, as Mahomes. He is the only player in NFL history with more than 3,000 passing yards and 30 TDs in his first 12 games.

Among the active crop of Canton-bound QBs -- Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger, even Eli Manning -- none broke even 2,000 yards or amassed 20 TDs. (Each has at least 40,000 yards and 330 passing TDs now.)

Mahomes' 115.2 passer rating is 4.2 points above second-place Kurt Warner. He could become the second player to throw for 5,000 yards and 50 TDs in a season ... and he's only 23. --Dan Hajducky

The horse isn't allowed to look in other directions. The horse doesn't even know it's an athlete.

Outrage gets more clicks.

Yeah, ESPN doesn't have an agenda with this list at all:

7 of the Top 10 are women.

Putting Mahomes on their at #18, but cleverly sliding in Drew Brees a few spots before him when he's not even remotely close to being the most 'dominant' athlete in his sport.

Yup, no agenda here at all. Nothing to see. Move along . . . . .

CervezaChill 12-11-2018 03:19 PM

If a CFB darling like Deshaun Watson had anywhere near the same season as Mahomes, ESPN would have him at number 1, 2 and 3.

4. Ariya Jutanugarn (professional golfer)

John Daily was once a dominant professional golfer that drank a lot of booze.

WNBA and golf on this list ROFL

You know that there's some 5th grade girl somewhere who hit puberty early and is destroying worlds at dodgeball with her 5-8 frame. Why didn't they put her on the list? ESPN is sexist and ageist.

Wow. I don't know know how exactly to describe the comical levels to which this list panders to the far left and their political ideologies of empowering minorities/women. Not that I care about any ESPN list, to be honest, but it literally jumps off the screen at you.

Alex Ovechkin over Connor McDavid? Nah...

.....the ****ing WNBA?

.....a golfer?

....A HORSE?!?!?!?!!?

If you merely break it down by dominating an individual sport and include athletes in said sports, a lot of the names make a lot of sense, but the order makes no sense whatsoever. There is no rational argument you can make that says Mookie Betts is better than Mike Trout. He has one Trout-level season and despite being 1 year younger has 35 fewer career WAR.

Seriously. Somewhere out there an elite bunny rabbit -- the fastest and highest jumpingest rabbit of them all -- is being seriously screwed over by its exclusion from this list. It's a ****ing travesty!

SAUTO 12-11-2018 04:00 PM

I thought it was about who is the most dominant in their sport compared with the dominant players in other sports. You know comparing dominance and ranking

If that's the case most of you guys sound like idiots.
