I think Alex Smith coming for free or for a middle round pick allows us to trade back and raise the talent level on the team the most by acquiring additional picks. However, if that deal can't get done (or even if it can), I'd be fine with moving down to 10ish and taking Barkley as well.

I love people dying for "value" who think getting the 3rd, 4th, 5th maybe 6th ranked QB, but at a lower pick, is better than landing the best.

The best value play a team with the #1 pick can ever have, is the same one they always have. With the #1 pick you get the best available person who plays the most important position. If you hit you win for a decade, if you miss you suck and take another one a few years later.

Hey guys, when do the Wonderlic scores come out?

This is the final piece of the puzzle for Geno to be compared to guys like Brees and Manning.

Those guys put up their big college numbers and maintained their starting position, for the most part, against top competition at the college level.

Because Geno didn't put up big numbers against teams like Oklahoma, Texas, and LSU.
