Yes it is.

Haden's probably nothing more than a slot CB at this point in his career. He's lost several steps over the last 2 years due to injury and the odds of that coming back are remote.

I suspect he'll only see 1 year of that deal and then get cut. He's not a #1 CB and he's very possibly not even a viable #2 at this point.

I thought 1 yr/$4 million.

Seriously - that's all I'd have given him. Short term, little risk and let him try to re-establish his value.

There's no way I'd have given him a multi-year deal unless there's zero signing bonus in the subsequent years. (essentially giving him guaranteed salary in year 1 with team options in every remaining year).

There's a better than average chance that he's done as a starting cornerback.

Injuries to already slow corners don't go very well.

Really, for last year's 115th ranked CB that has had injuries and reportedly looked like shit in training camp?

Glad the Chiefs didn't pay that.

9 million for a broke dick off a loser team

Enjoy him Steeler fan. You guys are screwed.

thabear04 08-30-2017 04:24 PM

Well Steelers had a former browns CB (Justin Gilbert) and he was shit.

I'd rather pay a 5th rounder for Cam Erving than pay $9 million/year for Joe Haden.
