Who will be our next Quarterback in 2 - 4 years?

poll forthcoming

there could be a rookie to enter the league by then that will meet KC QB requirements, however.

These will most likely be our only options, so think deep.

Hammock Parties 04-28-2013 10:05 PM

Alex Smith will be our starter for 4 years.

After enduring his BS he will be replaced midway through the 5th year.

Mother****erJones 04-28-2013 10:05 PM

Tyler Bray

Yes, but will we boo him when he gets a concussion and is finally benched?

AdumbGuy 04-28-2013 10:10 PM

Poll fail! Where is the next SF backup QB option?

Bump 04-28-2013 10:12 PM

damnit forgot Kirk Cousins, he will be a strong possibility too

My vote is Tim Tebow....or Joe Montana.

RealSNR 04-28-2013 10:20 PM

Probably a 49er backup.

AdumbGuy 04-28-2013 10:27 PM

Just realized Colt McCoy is now a backup for the 49ers. As such, I would like to change my vote to Colt McCoy's backup.

RustShack 04-28-2013 10:52 PM

I'll guess a QB we draft next year, unless Smith gets hurt and Chase or Bray end up awesome.

TWO years, and if he ain't awesome....then Bray/Daniel/next draft pick

Chiefaholic 04-28-2013 10:58 PM

Tyler Bray is the most athletic QB we've had in a very long time. If our coaching staff can teach him the fundamentals he needs to work on, then it's his job to lose. The kid can literally make all the throws, which is far more than I can say for anybody since Trent Green and multiple others before him.

Daniels contract is set up to where he starts by year three or he's cut.

Our QB cycle:

San Francisco
San Francisco
San Francisco
St. Louis
New England
Draft
Minnesota
New England
San Francisco

So judging by this our next QB will be from San Francisco, or possibly St. Louis, depending on how the cycle actually works. If we're stuck in a temporal loop, we just looped back to the beginning and we have two more SF QB retreads to work through. Or maybe we just hit the "reset" button and the automatic next step is another St. Louis QB.

So that leaves us with:

SF - BJ Daniels, Colt McCoy, Scott Tolzien
STL - Kellen Clemens, Austin Davis

I figure we have 4 years of Alex Smith to deal with. That rules out Clemens. Colt McCoy would be 31 so he's probably out too.

BJ Daniels, Scott Tolzien or Austin Davis will be your next Chiefs QB.

with Another QB that gets traded for a 2nd rounder with a new Regime in place again thinking they can win it the same way.

Kaepernick 04-28-2013 11:12 PM

I voted Colt McCoy.

You know he is a 49er, right? LMAO

Brian Hoyer is with the cards, and has been, and colt mccoy was traded to the 49ers before the draft. This thread failed from the get go. But to hell with it. Um, Nick Foles.....

Per Jimmy Hyams

Former UT QB Tyler Bray has yet to sign with Chiefs but has reached verbal on 3-year deal with bonuses for making roster, practice squad

A Salt Weapon 04-29-2013 04:31 PM

I'm not sure when, but at some point I see Bray starting for us within the next 4 years. Assuming he doesn't go and do something really stupid. If he pays attention to coaching, learns the offense, and quits doing immature crap he could grow into a NFL caliber QB.

Refuse to vote until you get a San Francisco QB option on there (probably Colt McCoy).

EDIT: Should have read through the thread so I wasn't the 8th person to post this.

My lord. The future direction of KC's QB situation is so bad you guys actually think a UDFA/camp fodder/PS chump has a realistic chance to become a starting QB.

Bray won't be in the league more than 2-3 years and will never make it off the PS.

Chiefs Pantalones 04-30-2013 09:57 AM

In four years when Dorsey/Reid are both fired for their choice in QB (as was Pioli and the two tards in Haley and Crennel) we'll hire another GM/HC combo that'll do the same damn thing again, that being trade for a backup and not draft our own QB. Some of me thinks Clark prefers this to keep the dumb true fans around because they really aren't true fans because they won't stick around to see a drafted QB develop.

Some of us thought Tanney would make it as a starter too. Yeah it's that bad.

Don't think he is on the team yet.

Grahm Harrell or Nick Foyles, it all depends on wheather you believe the Chiefs are going through Packerization or Eagleization. Either way, I'm glad the Patriotization of the Chiefs has come to an end.

What i didnt understand. Nick Foles, the eagles wouldnt trade, like at all. now we hear that the starting qb position is going to be a battle between Vick, and Barkley. Am I missing something?
