VFW to boycott Chiefs etc

Apparently VFW halls are going to boycott any team that protest during the national Anthem.

Chiefs,Seattle,49ers etc

These veterans don't speak for veterans /prc ;)

Warrior5 09-14-2016 10:28 AM

Good. Not sure it rates very high on the so-what meter, but I'm glad somebody's pissed off.

ModSocks 09-14-2016 10:29 AM

How did Seattle or the Chiefs boycott the National Anthem? Dolphins and the 49ers are only teams I heard of that had a very small amt of playaers doing it.

Marcus Peters did with his John Carlos salute. I mean, I guess that's a protest? Not like he sat or took a knee, exactly.

They don't speak for me

BWillie 09-14-2016 10:52 AM

Personally I just wish they did the National Anthem before the players came out on the field, so I wouldn't have to hear so many stupid hot takes about this issue.

Seriously. That was barely a protest.

DaFace 09-14-2016 10:58 AM

I'm a bit perplexed by the contradictory ideas of defending the freedoms of the U.S. while simultaneously being pissed off by someone exercising those freedoms.

When it's an express visible volitional symbolic act, there's no 'barely' in protest.

It's not like he crossed his fingers and hoped no one noticed or asked him about it. He did it at a specific time and place, with guaranteed visibility, for reasons he wanted publicized.
