Carjacking at 95th & Monrovia with baby in car ends safely

So, a car was stolen\jacked at a Bank of America at 95th & Monrovia tonight with a 5 month old baby in the back. The car and baby were found at 79th & Wornall and the baby is safe.

This ended well but it happens too often. This is the perfect case for CCW, imo. Apparently one of the passengers was hit in the leg with a bat. It is unclear if the person was trying to save the child or not.

Having said that, what would you do if someone tried to take your car with your child in the back seat? It's a very scary thought but these days it seems to be one we must confront on a daily basis.

I have never confronted this thought, let alone confronted it on a daily basis.

Dude, people have their cars stolen\jacked with their kids in it almost every day in this country.

Yes, this is clearly proof that we should all be packing heat.

You have a better idea? I'm all ears.

Auto theft and kidnapping statistics seem to be at odds with your statement.

Not sure if you are unfamiliar with 95th & Monrovia but no one in their right mind would ever consider it an unsafe place. Lenexa, Ks is a very safe place.

I live right around the corner from 79th and Wornall. Getting my CCL in two weeks.

I grew up in that area. Used to be a relatively safe area. Haven't been that way in years but if I had to guess, the Perp wasn't from that area. He probably shit because he stole a car with a baby, dropped the car at the C-store at 79th & Wornall and booked it on foot.

Lock your doors? Most cars do that automatically these days.

I would hope so.

I imagine it must be exhausting to live and be so scared of everything.
