Solid State Hardrives

Anybody have a good source for them? I am looking to buy probably 2 256gb drives, may try to run them on Raid if I can on this Asus G73-SW

Most every year I buy a new laptop but this one has been so good I think I am just going to dump 16gb of ram in it and a couple of SSD's instead.

last SSID I bought was through newegg, but that was a while ago. Maybe tigerdirect is rolling some Xmas deals? 256gb SSID's probably won't get the price cut too deep though

back when I was responsible for ordering more equipment, I like to use pricewatch.com to shoot for the occasional deal.

While I am thinking about, what is the best software to use to clone my C drive now so I can use the SSD to boot to?

I will just use the 750gb 7200 rpm spinning as the backup.

I've used Norton Ghost before that worked great for cloning a drive.

at least use them for the reviews, then shop around for the best price

And yea, SSDs are amazing. You know how when you get a new computer and you expect it to be all super fast and it's really not like you expected? Well the SSD makes it like you expected.

I can't wait , the reason I delayed is because I thought I would have to take the laptop apart to get to the second bay but that's not the case, the computer has a double HD bay

I bought this laptop 03/2011 and it still ranks in the top 2% on PcPitstop

Hardware based drive imager, Beyond Compare, Microsoft Rich Copy, Microsoft Robocopy in that order.

Make a couple copies so you've got another backup laying around and take one offsite.
