I was 5 seconds away from starting this thread. Whew...pressures off.

Awww I missed my chance.
Nothing new there. |
According to McCullough and Mellinger, Yost said he might use James Shields as a pinch-hitter to get through the pitcher spot since we only have 3 bench players (including the backup catcher) and he's our best-hitting pitcher.
Its unclear if he's joking. |
Quote:
8 guys (minus pitcher) on the field, plus 3 bench players = 11 INF/OF/C, which means that the Royals are either carrying 13 or 14 pitchers, am I not mistaken? |

May the Royals give Duff some run support tonight. :grovel:
|
How in the hell can you be 5-10 with a 2.42 ERA? That simply does not compute.
|
Yankees up 1.

Kansas City's Danny Duffy (5-10, 2.42 ERA) is 2-5 with a 1.74 ERA in his last nine starts, and received just eight runs of support in the last eight. Three of those came while he went 0-3 with a 2.01 ERA in five July outings, but none in the last two. |

It doesn't get much more brutal than that. |

Pitching isn't the problem for the Royals, IMHO. It's the offense. |
Tigers need to get their ass in gear. We need them to beat the teams for us in the Wildcard race. We can take care of them when we play them.
