I just picked up a VZ2008 and need to get some ammo.

I bought a few boxes of Brown Bear 9mm a few months ago, didn't know much about em but for $11.99 a box figured it couldn't be that bad for range ammo (I shot Silver Bear before). Took some to the range and got through about 20 and a casing got stuck in the barrel, jammed the extractor and locked the slide closed. I'm not sure if it had to do with the lacquer coating or what, but I won't shoot it anymore and need to figure out how to get rid of the rest of it.

Ok thanks guys. You pretty much confirmed what I thought. I shouldn't have a problem shooting the rusky ammo through the Vz2008. But I won't risk it for my pistols.

If I don't win the KSG I'm in on I'm afraid I'm going to have to pull the trigger on one of these over priced contraptions.

There are guns I would drop $1400 on but I just can't bring myself to do it with this thing. I have a shotgun that shoots eight rounds and if I can't kill something with 8 rounds I'll grab one of my AR's, my AK or one of my high capacity pistols. Hell if it still isn't dead I'll empty my .500 Smith and Wesson into it.

I'd rather have a VEPR 12 than a KSG. You can get them for $799 brand new.

I'd really like to see it under 1k and being sold by some other distributor.

It just seems like the perfect home defense gun to me. I greatly prefer the buckshot pattern over a single projectile if I'm in home. The double barrel action seems perfect for miss fires and I can transfer most of the spare ar accessories over to it. I like the looks of the build but it very well could be a pile of shit, who knows.

I have a bit of a semi auto phobia when it comes to defense guns. Even my ARs worry me despite never having any serious issues. Unless something changes, I'm going to be into the ksg for $625 and it looks brand new, but I'm sure I'd enjoy playing with a VEPR. :thumb:

My VEPR is nice, but I would never run paper through the bastard.

Oh, there is a tremendous amount of satisfaction when I unload 10 rounds in a very short time span. I can't imagine doing it with a 25 drum

I hear you! Although I came across a real reach out and touch rifle at Rocky Mtn. Discount last November. It was a Rem 40x with a 26" bull barrel ,composite fully adjustable stock and a Nikon 4x16x50 mounted. 308 cal. I looked at the tag and felt this sharp stabbing pain in my wallet, I almost did it anyway. Sweet looking rig! Asking price was $3600 plus change.

I keep a pump Remington 870 shotgun with a tube extender as my go to home defense weapon. I holds 8 rounds of #1 buck, and has a laser and light setup with the pressure switch. I don't know what it is with me, but when it comes to life or death I would rather have a pump over an auto. I guess I have had too many autos jam out in the field hunting over the years. I think I'm still into that thing under $500 and I bet my life on it.

Don't get me wrong I love semi auto shotguns for dinking around and playing, but give me the pump every time with #1 buck for home defense.

Picked up a new toy in a trade this morning. Doesn't shoot too bad for a cheap pistol.
