One thing I was wondering. What the average american's view of Australia?

I don't know if I'm average but I'm a white kid from a Kansas City suburb.. and obviously I've already asked you if you surf and hunt kangaroos..

I really know nothing about Australia, besides there's a bunch of crazy animals and snakes, and because of movies and TV I assume everybody surfs, is tan and has long hair and a badass accent which i cheapily pull off in Taco Bell drive thrus for shits and giggles.

I talked to an Irish guy on a different board once and he surprisingly knew a lot of our history, even more than me, and he had a very negative opinion of my country.
