How can I post it? Screenshot would make those skills little unrecognizable dots.

the easiest way to do it...

open your browser, minimize, then open the game. login to your character and open up your skill tree.

go back to your browser, go to this link http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgUA and copy your characters skill tree onto the websites skill tree map. (do it in that order. the game may stall out if you open apps when the game is already running)

once you match up the skill trees, scroll to the bottom of the map on the website. there is a box with the heading; link to this build. copy that code and post it here with the insert link tool. then we can go to the website and make changes to the skill tree. we can show you what we would do to change the build by posting the link to the revised skill tree maps.

thats not a biggie. the easiest way to get them is to trade other orbs or items.

it looks like you're chasing down offensive bonuses too aggressively. its going to be tough to survive in melee. since you are level 27, you should have 2 respec points unless you have already used them.

to start, i would drop the 2 cold damage% nodes and pick up 2 life nodes that are close to the templar root. that will look like this. two point change

from there you want to get more life, armor and mana shield. I would go ahead and get the armor/shield nodes closest to your root. that will look like this. 6 more points

so if you can stick it out for 6 more levels of grinding, you can raise your health by 36% with 30 hp on top. you would also raise both your armor and mana shield by 44% and increase all your elemental resistances by 10%. you won't be a tank but you should notice the improved durability. you can always just barter for the orbs of regret.

I do really well ranged, with a bow(arrow volley) and my lightning/cold spells but I feel like I need more firepower. I don't do melee much.

Fishpicker 02-04-2013 02:25 AM

I'll show you how I built my templar last time around

first 8 levels

level 18

level 24

level 32 resolute technique will help if you use sceptres. if you prefer wands, skip it. I like using totems to cast my spells, if you prefer to cast spells on your own skip that too.

this is an alternate build for level 32 if you want to skip totems and resolute technique. this will make you tougher vs. melee but you will be short on mana and light on melee damage.

level 40ish I'm getting in position to get more mana by branching my constellation to the witch section.

just shy of level 60 and then my character got wiped just when I was starting to dominate. I didn't die once between levels 30 and 59.

the most important thing is to get your ducks in a row and get clusters of defensive bonuses. pick up offensive bonuses where you can but they shouldn't be a priority. you should try to make your spells stronger through gem levels and gear.

I love the totems, I have just the one though right now. It's little more than a nuisance to the enemies at level 33 though.

Did you take Ancestral Bond? you can't deal damage with skills yourself? that seems like a tremendous curse.

yeah. the damage reduction is steep. I always used my most powerful spell in the totem. multiple projectiles will help a lot. or you can put frost nova in the totem so it will slow the enemies down while you blast away with spells.

i didn't do ancestral bond because it didn't exist before open beta. I think that was their way of nerfing totem spam. before the wipe it was just extra totem bonus.

you want more firepower with the bow? you'll need a lot more dexterity to level up the bow gems. consider using wands.

Quite honestly it feels strange being great with a bow as a templar(lolz), so I dunno if i'll level that up. Need to use my spell casting.

btw 2 remote totems is no longer a great option because the passive that allows more totems also blocks your ability to use skill yourself.

2 totems is pretty much only feasible if you build a summoner

but imo a remote totem with a skelly skill gem attached to it is pretty functional for any character. Endless skelly summoning FTW!

Not sure how to have totems use skills, just put the totem in something linked to say skeleton summoning?

Fishpicker 02-04-2013 04:32 PM

well the spell totem only works with spells (blue gems). i don't think it will work with any skill.

yes, get special 'remote totem' then put it into socket that is linked to skill you want.

you will see that skill show up in your hotkeys with little letter by skill picture.

btw - if you have a support gem linked to skill it usually shows a little letter in skill icon so you can know if it's compatible and working.
