Do you dress up for Halloween?

Interested to see how many grown ups on here dress up for Halloween. I'm doing a Mad Hatter.

Do you still enjoy that part of the holiday, as an adult?

What are you going as today?

edit*it's ok for the kids, though.

We have a costume contest between departments at work over the last 3 years. Before that it was more than 20 years since I had dressed up.

I have young kids and its fun for them, so yes I do still dress up.

I stopped at about 10 like most people!

If Bob Dole's band is playing, we dress. We are the Soggy Bottom Boys this year.

Only for a kids Halloween party that we go to every year. But it's a week before Halloween though.

No. I grew out of that when I was 13-14.

I went to a costume contest once as the Grim Reaper and didn't even make the first round. A woman dressed as a G-rated Bo Peep won the contest and I thought, "So I spent half an hour with black and white face paint, people I know didn't even recognize me, and BO PEEP wins? Screw this!" I have not dressed up since.

Now, I *could* have this year if some stuff I ordered had been shipped. It isn't a Halloween thing, but some Viking type stuff, and I will post pics of me in it when it arrives at some point. It's more for a collection and to visualize my inner warrior fighting cancer. And, I am a nerd, so there is that to consider.

Halloween used to be my favorite holiday. By far. The last couple of times when I was young enough to dress up and party, I went as a news reporter and interviewed people on the street. That was a blast.

But, ever since I got married, the allure of ****ing girls in slutty costumes just feels more like Gitmo torture, so there's no point. I'll pass out candy to kids and go to bed by 11. The rest of it is pointless.

When I took my kids trick-or-treating (stopped years ago) I would "dress up" in black sweat pants and a long sleeve black sweat shirt with glow in the dark Halloween themed boxer shorts over the sweat pants. So from a distance you would just see the boxer shorts. I was The Invisible Man. That's as much effort as I was willing to put into it. We went all out on the kids' costumes though, almost always completely home made.
