2012 Gambling Challenge - Week 11
 

The betting windows are open for Week 11 wagering. We have a Thursday game every week now, so I'll post the odds for that one every Wednesday. The rest I will post in a couple of days.

PLEASE read the rules here. The number one rule you need to remember is that editing your bets is not allowed and is subject to immediate disqualification.

Remember that you must place a wager every 3 weeks at minimum. If you go without betting for 3 consecutive weeks, you will be disqualified.

Slammer must bet this week or be disqaualified.

How to bet the Money Line

Sample line

COLTS -243

First off, a money bet is a straight up win/lose bet. No points involved, so of course there are odds payoffs.

If you want to bet on the Saints, you will win $223 for every $100 that you bet. Conversely, for the Colts, you will win $100 for every $243 that you bet.

In other words, the team with the - money line is the favorite (therefore lower payout) and the team with the + is the under dog.

yep, I'm taking the over based on my theory that the Bears get a couple of turnovers and one returned for an interception.

Yeah, I hosed that up. I have a stake in this, so I'll do whatever the consensus says.

I would just cancel all losing bets. I didn't lose a bet in this so I'm not really trying to favor myself here.

Edit: I just noticed all the other bets were losses except for my over bet and BRC's over. This is your deal, but I don't think my over bet should be canceled because I clearly knew the game was in SF when I made that bet.

Well, I could cancel the point spread and ML bets, since they are affected by home field advantage. The over/under should not matter.

Once again, I have a stake in this, having bet on the Bears, so I am not going to make the decision.

I need input from the rest of you, even if you did not have any bets on the game.

I lean towards cancel them but am obviously biased.

Well, if you're going to ask me if I think you should cancel my losing bet, then, you know, sure. I did consider the home field when I made the bet. I disagree that the over/under wouldn't factor. Chicago is usually colder and windier than SF.
But whatever you decide. I could have easily found out the game was in SF I guess.

Wow. I just now realized how truly horrible i did this week. Many of these were right on or within a point or two. Ouch.

You had $47,500 and made $47,750 in bets. The Ravens/Steelers bet is not accepted.
