The Gong Show will return to ABC this year.

It's being produced by Will Arnett (Arrested Development, 30 Rock, Lego Batman, etc.)

ABC went back in the Delorean last year and hasnt come back (Match Game, Pyramid, and now Gong Show).

What's next, Joker's Wild or Alex Trebek's old "High Rollers"?

(not that I'm complaining too much....match game with Baldwin is pretty solid)

Love seeing that news above, hope they can recreate the same zany magic...much will depend on their choice of host and judges IMO

Will Arnett can be pretty damn funny but I don't know if he's hosting and haven't heard anything about the judges.

Last I heard, it was given a 10 episode commitment, which means they're being very cautious about it.

Does anyone here enjoy Hollywood Game Night with Jane Lynch? I've seen it once or twice and it wasn't bad.

Not terribly familiar with Arnett other than knowing he is Amy Poehlers ex, and had a starring role in a popular family-type comedy that I cant recall the name of

What little I know of him though, he doesnt seem like the kooky Chuck Barris type this show needs

Yeah, his comedy is definitely "dry", which could work if the judges are zany but if they're not, it's hard to see it working with him.

Will arnett is funny. But I wonder if he works for the Feds like Chuck Barris did? Wink.

Just crazy enough to maybe be true, it made for a helluva good movie with Sam Rockwell anyway
