Dang, I bowed out when my 2 went over $600. For the whole season. (not including parking, of course)
You can do the math as to what year that was.

e:600 per seat

I have my two seats, and for years I've bought the third from the family that sits next to me. I may have to stop doing that this year and just keep the two.

As far as how does I guy like me afford those seats? Well, the answer is, it's getting harder every year. I don't make a ton of money, and my wife is a retired teacher. I don't travel, or gamble, or own a boat, or a lake house, or anything like that. So the Chiefs get just about all of my "fun money."

As far as transferring seats to another person, the Chiefs will do that, but you have to pay them a fee. i think it's $50 or $100 per seat. If you fail to renew, the seats become open, and people who sign up for the seat relocation program would have a shot at them.

I really hate to look at these seats as a "commodity," but the Chiefs have turned them into that exactly. I'll probably buy these seats every year, until which at whatever point I'll just have to start scalping them to offset the costs. I really hate to do that, as I've never scalped one of my seats ever. The thought is depressing to me, because I was never buying these as an "investment." I just love football.

As my son started getting into rather expensive competitive sports, I had to make the call. But my anger with ownership made it all the easier.

I'll say this, I didn't have the seats you have, so it was a lot easier. But I don't regret my decision at all. It's been a win-win in my case.

It is 250 now. They will waive it if you are transferring to an immediate family member. I was able to take over my dads seats when he died and he had taken them over from my sister and her husband when they had medical bills piling up and they had gotten them from my dad when the team was shitty. Basically we have kicked them around the family, each person moving them to satisfy our game experience.

As of today I have not renewed or transferred them. I still may cave when the reps start calling, but I'm not ready yet. The preseason game thing is a big reason. They should just not have them. I don't ever go. I donate the tickets, and consider it a regular charitable contribution, but that is getting to be annoying at these prices. Why should they profit by forcing me to be charitable. I'd rather give 600 dollars to a chiefs charity for a preseason waiver or something like that.
