Not Pioli's fault? Under Pioli:

1. Todd Haley was made head coach for 2.8 seasons before they finally got rid of his ass for failing to do what Edwards and Vermeil were also unable to do with the team, win a playoff game.
2. Matt Cassell was given a 5 year contract for $62 million, and has shown he's not even worth half of that contract. His only credentials was starting 15 regular season games behind the #1 offensive line of the NE Patriots.
3. Dwayne Bowe was made the team franchise player at a yearly salary of $9 million. It wouldn't be so bad if he were more consistent with his catching.
4. Two former Broncos "mediocre" QB's were signed to the team (Kyle Orton late last season, Brady Quinn this season), and neither have performed well.
5. Rick Stanzi has been treated the same way that Matt Blundin was treated in KC when Carl Peterson was GM: tagged as the team's "inactive bench warmer QB."
6. The team so far has had an overall win-loss record of 22-36 since 2009. If you count the losses they had under Herman Edwards as well (final three years of King Carl as GM), the Chiefs have had a total of 69 regular season losses in the last 6.5 seasons. That's an adjusted average of 10.4 losses per year.
7. The current offense has been more than 3 times worse than the Chiefs' offense of the 1990's.

Are the above factors not enough proof that Clark Hunt hired the wrong guy to replace King Carl nearly 4 years ago? At least with team Peterson/Schottenheimer, the Chiefs were making the playoffs several years in a row.

I'm not going to say it's 100% Pioli's fault because he's not on the field. What I am going to say is the root cause for all our misery is Pioli. Yes, he's the one that obtained many players, including the elephant in the room, the QBs. He's the one that hired 2 train wrecks for HC. He's the one that is responsible for the toxic enviornment at 1 Arrowhead. Whether that's true or not, those stories have kept a lot of agents and their players away from the Chiefs.
