It was, Mr. Stewie. I started a really cool thread with really great, uplifting, cool music so that, for just a brief moment, we could forget our troubles and remember the good times (if, that is, we didn't black out during the good times) and focus on the positives in life like ... you know ... rainbows.

But these guys have turned it into poop.

Thinking about it, some Cream would be nice ... maybe something from Disraeli Gears. Or, maybe CSN&Y's version of Woodstock. Those would uplift and make brain rainbows.

Good stuff, Mr. vailpass.

I always had a powerful fondness for Cream and Badge was a personal favorite ... co-written by Harrison and Clapton and you can really tell ... especially at the bridge. I would have loved to have been around the clubs when guys like Jack Bruce and Clapton and Voorman and Manfred Mann were all hanging out, shuffling from one group to another, and eventually settling in to a single band for a few years. The London club scene must have been fascinating back in those days ... so much talent everywhere you looked.

And that Woodstock version is nothing short of awesome, in my opinion. Young's lead on that song cannot be entirely replicated. He was a madman spontaneously exploding on the electric guitar. It's not particularly complicated, but his style and technique are so intertwined that you can barely duplicate that performance. Amazing, really.

Thanks, man. I am uplifted and brain rainbowed to the max.

Love the lyrics in this song

We had a lot of luck on Venus
We always had a ball on Mars
Meeting all the groovey people
We've rocked the Milky Way so far
We danced around with Borealice
We're space truckin' round the the stars
Come on let's go Space Truckin'

Remember when we did the moonshot
And Pony Trekker led the way
We'd move to the Canaveral moonstop
And everynaut would dance and sway
We got music in our solar system
We're space truckin' round the stars
Come on let's go Space Truckin'

The fireball that we rode was moving
But now we've got a new machine
Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah the freaks said
Man those cats can really swing
They got music in their solar system
They've rocked around the Milky Way
They dance around the Borealice
They're Space Truckin' everyday
Come on

i think so, i loved the Stones flavor to that disc.

Yes Stones, but also imo Bob Dylan & Tom Petty. That's been my impression with his music style away from GnR.

i remember the Bob Dylan (Infidels) CD that came out in 83.

Union Sundown was a bad ass track from that disc.

Speaking of the Stones this is my favorite rendition of Sympathy for the Devil. Janes Addiction.

That's pretty good, nice sound I dig it. Atcually it reminds me of James Blunt music style. James Blunt was self taught and the story goes his parents did evry thing they could to keep music away from him. His only song he heard growing up was Happy Birthday. Then as an adult and in the service he started playing the guitar and even in combat he would play it in fox holes as they lay there under fire. So I thought it was a cool story bro.

Oh man I dig Stevie; he had so much left. I caught Stevie Ray's last show at Alpine Valley. Robert Cray, then Stevie Ray, then Clapton all brought in by this big ol' chopper that sounded Apocalypse Now to the mushrooms in my head. Jeff Healy and Jimmy Vaughn sitting in for some jams. What a night. Cruised back through the pea soup fog afterward. Woke up the next morning and heard the news. Never forget it.
