I assume they will still take Jaime's hand, but I'm guessing it won't be Hoat on the show who cuts it off. Could be Hoat I suppose, but none of the viewers who didn't read the books will know who he is.

Still, if not Hoat, then who? That's a pretty big deal to cut off the hand of Jaime Lannister. You can't use the Mountain because he works for the Lannisters. Not sure who else it could be at this point. Doesnt seem like the kind of thing the Brotherhood would do.

I bet they don't cut fof the hand at all. Tyrion still has his nose, so nice try. They'll probably take his thumb and another finger and he'll wear a golden laced glove or something to cover it up. Or have his entire arm mauled by the Bear.

They better cut it off.

As if there was any question HBO has renewed "GOT" for a 4th season.

I think the reason Tyrion still has his nose is simply a budget thing. Wouldn't they have to CGI that for every scene? Because in the book he loses the whole thing.

They almost have to cut Jamie's hand off. To me, losing his hand triggers the change in Jamie and the humility he has afterwards when Cersei and everyone cut him down for being half the man he once was. Also, he defends Brienne when she is accused by Loras that she killed Renly. There is a marked change in Jamie's character after he loses the hand.

I believe that's why Jamie tells Tyrion the truth about his wife to be (from back in the day), because he gets a glimpse at what Tyrion goes through every day. Just my 2 cents, but he loses the one thing that has given him his reputation and strikes fear into anyone who would challenge him. Men aren't afraid of him anymore.

Well, it's not like they set the series ratings record with the premiere Sunday (despite it being Easter), or like it's the most lucrative show HBO has after international marketing and DVDs/BR sales, despite its huge budget (>$55 million/season).

The one thing that changed Jamie was the fact that how he defined himself was taken from him. His hand doesn't need to be gone for that to happen. His sword arm just has to be incapacitated to where he can never hold a sword in that hand again. There are plenty of ways to make that happen.

Oh and btw I hate Jamie's guts because he effectively and willingly tried to kill a child. He gets no redemption for that.

Would be cool if Bran and Jaime meet and reconcile at the end to bring the story full circle from the first chapter. Would have to involve Jaime helping to defeat the Others I guess.

Nobody wants to see peter dinklage looking like that. Too distracting.

kcpasco 04-07-2013 08:38 PM

Poor Theon and all that false hope. LOL

That's very true. Would be difficult to focus on the scene with that much of a distraction.

I schedule watching GoT on delayed basis from my DVR, trying to stretch the season and make the off season shorter. So I'm deliberately behind the conversation here. If the following info has already been mentioned, my apologies. If not I think this is interesting and useful:

The casting of Jojen and the Queen of Thorns was ****ing spot-on perfect in every way. Jojen was written as a young boy that looked much, much older in the face and they hit it out of the park.

Hawk 04-08-2013 10:35 AM

The Queen of Thorns was awesome, loved her immediately. But the actress playing Margary is really hitting it out of the park IMO. That scene near the end with her and Joffrey was just so perfect. She manipulates everyone with such ease. She is going to be fun to watch. Especially her and Cersei as they go at it more and more. Great job making her character more interesting than in the books.
