What's the point of registering the damn thing?

My guess: the same reason people register web sites early - just making sure it's available if anyone wants to use it.

I personally don't really see the point in a CP twitter account, though.

Whoever's running this needs to post funny and insightful things that are posted on here. Period.

Problem with that is that it implies a similarity in values and offerings, and SOC has always tried to be pretty family friendly. I wouldn't want to have a completely different group of people following that on Twitter than actually post here.

Not to mention that SOC is doing great on its own.

Yep, you don't want some SOC followers figuring out how its birth site is obsessed with douchery, rape, aids, anti-freeze, etc. :) (not everyone, but some of us)
