How do you rank the NFL starting QBs?
Heres my take....whats yours?
Do you consider guys like Schaub, Cutler, Rivers, Romo, etc.... "Franchise QBs" ? (Basically all the guys in the Good but not yet great tier) revised list Oct 14 2013 Top Tier: Brady Roethlisberger P. Manning E. Manning Rodgers Brees Flacco Not yet great, but have upside: Kaepernick Wilson Stafford Luck RGIII Ryan Good, but have reached plateau: Rivers Romo Cutler A Smith Dalton Jury still out, have upside with question marks: Wheedon Locker Newton Tannehill Bradford Geno Smith Pryor Manuel Glennon Bottum Rung: Schaub Ponder/Cassel/Freeman Palmer Vick Gabbert |
I thik Eli Manning is the best QB right now.
Top Tier: - The Guys that won it. E. Manning Rogers Brady Brees Roethlisberger P. Manning Secod Tier - Best out of the rest Flacco Schaub Romo Ryan Rivers Stafford Vick Palmer Cutler - He's last because he's such a douche. Today's Jeff George 3rd Tier - Guys with Potential in no particular order Ponder - Love this kid Gabbert Luck Locker RGIII Ponder Stafford Newton Wilson Tannehill Bradford Gabbert Wheedon Freeman Sanchez A Smith Bottom Tier - Reached their potential - Back up QB material Kolb Fitzpatrick Cassel |
Having Culter on the good list was inexcusable...

I'd most certainly take Kolb over Kasl right now.
|
I can see it being Flacco and Matt Ryan in the Super Bowl this year.
|
OP has Stafford in two categories. So do you think he is in the "good" or the "jury is still out section?" Personally I would put him in the "jury" section. He can't stay healthy and is capable of lots of interceptions.
|
I don't know why Freeman wouldn't be in the "jury still out but has upside" group.
|
Top Tier: The elite QBs
E. Manning Rogers Brady Brees Second Tier: Battle-proven, top QBs: Roethlisberger P. Manning Schaub Flacco Third Tier: Good QBs Romo Ryan Rivers 4th Tier: Strong rookies and high-potential developing QBs: Stafford Newton Bradford RGIII Luck 5th Tier: On their way down but still deserve to start, or up-and-coming with the jury still out Vick Cutler Palmer Sanchez Fitzpatrick A Smith Kolb 6th tier: Unproven, mid-potential rookies and developing QBs Locker Gabbert Ponder Wilson Tannehill Wheedon Freeman 7th Tier: QBs who aren't starting Tebow Quinn McCoy Leinart Thigpen Moore 8th Tier: QBs who aren't in the league Croyle Young Russell Farve Warner Testeverde 9th tier: Cassel Cassel |

Elite: Brady. Rodgers. Brees. Eli Manning.
2nd Tier: P. Manning. Matt Ryan. Flacco. Roethlisberger. Schaub. 3rd Tier: Stafford. Cutler. Rivers. Romo. Alex Smith. Vick. 4th Tier: Palmer. Dalton. Newton. Luck. RG3. Bradford. Freeman. 5th Tier: Fitzpatrick. Sanchez. Locker. Ponder. Gabbert. Wilson. 6th Tier: Kolb. Tannehill. Weeden. Cassel. My honest take. |
Homers wish Cassel was 5th tier.
He's in some kind of purgatory between the 5th tier and the 7th tier. |
In all honesty, I think good ole Matt is regressing in a big way with the Huard fetal concerning the passrush.

Phantom sack was fun though.

Cassel.
Then there's everyone else. |
Who gives a shit how anyone ranks them. We know Cassel sucks.
|
P. Manning isn't even a 2nd tier guy anymore. He has no velocity on his ball and he's made horrible decisions.
Not just some off target throws - HORRIBLE DECISIONS... |

Anyways, i didnt realize it until i compiled the list, but i would take any other teams QBs over ours right now. Any of the 31. Not saying we would win a championship with guys like Sanchez or Freeman a rookie QB, etc...., but at least those guys are younger and have better arms. |
I stop caring after Brady, Rodgers, Brees, E. Manning, Roethlisberger, Flacco, Ryan, and Rivers.
The rest either haven't been in the league long enough (Newton, Luck, RG3), haven't shown anything since they've been in the league (Freeman, Bradford), or can't stay on the field (Schaub, Stafford). |

Revised my list as of today...Oct 14 2013.
Do you agree? Should Eli and Big Ben still be in the top category?? |
Eli is far from Elite this year with 15 sacks and 5 fumbles.
