If Alex Smyth is the answer, the question is "what would it take to get the sheep Chiefs fans to fill the parking lots again on Sundays?"

Chase Daniels certainly helped round up the geographic homers.

Do all Alex Smith threads have the M*A*S*H theme playing softly in the back ground?

I remember when almost everyone here wanted no part of Alex Smith

Alex Smith is just full of positive mojo for this team!!! :spock:

If Alex Smith is brought in here and fans are happy about it, this organization/truefan base have got to be the stupid mother****ers of all time.

Entirely different situations

If the Chiefs were to sign Alex Smith, theywould sign him to
start, then draft mid round developmental QB to back up.

Sheer stupity, IMO.

The Chiefs are like a guy that have been living on Top Ramen for years.
They are being taken out to dinner by their assosiates and been given their choice of restaurants.

You are suggesting McDonalds.

God **** that would be beyond stupid.

Is it really that far fetched?

It's a nightmare scenario for me because I hate Alex Smith, but to discredit these reports is ridiculous.

Always good policy to acquire a 29-year-old QB who cannot and will not be effective enough to win a SB.

Why does the national media always think it's better for the Chiefs to grab a free agent qb than the draft?

Jake Long (Matt Ryan)...they haven't re-signed him yet.

Would you guys not feel the same if they were to go out and trade for Alex Smith and draft Star at 1?

Alex Smith will be exposed just like Cassel, Kolb, and to a lesser extent Matt Flynn. I just hope we aren't the team that shows it.

Shortage of Alex Smith interest around league isn't surprising. Was FA last yr and only 49ers & Fins took him seriously. Borderline starter.

so its a wishlist

1. Draft a QB 1 overall

okay

2. trade for Foles and draft a QB in the mid-later rounds
dont do that?

3. Alex Smith, Kevin Kolb, Some crap shit veteran QB that will get us nowhere.

The only cause for hope I would have is that the guy really played well last year before he got hurt, and that he'd be coming here with an offensive staff that can coach up QBs.

If they took a QB early in the draft and had him, I would let it play out, but I'm not happy about another retread ultimately.

I think someone like Tyler Bray would be the ultimate risk/reward guy to pair with Smith.

I think that the QBs that have come out lately have spoiled everyone.

I think if they got the Alex Smith that was in SF last year they'd win a lot. I think this defense is going to be a bear to deal with next year. I think the attacking one gap defense is a perfect fit for Poe and we will see true playmakers shine in it.

70% completion, 13/5 TD ratio in basically 9 1/4th games isn't horrendous. That's basically a 23/10 ratio over the course of a season.

Smith is still only 28, so that's another plus.

I'm just trying to find the editable parts of this shit sandwich.

Plus, I'm a believer that even with sitting, he's still going to have a learning period after that and I'd rather him just learn in the fire.

And if you think the defense will be a bear, woudln't it make more sense to let your rookie QB lean on them early and our running game to get his feet wet?

****, I just don't think I have it in me for another retread. I said it last night about FOles, say it again here. This is just too damn familiar and I feel pretty ****ing dirty even entertaining the idea.

Yeah, his last year wasn't horrendous, neither was 2011. Neither was Matt Cassel's 2010 or 08.

Kinda boring over at the Niners MB (relatively, that is) these days without the pro-Alex and anti-Alex crowd constantly slinging shit at each other in pretty much every thread. It feels nostalgic to come over here and see it all replayed.

Well, his entire NFL career consists of teams that have red jerseys.

The Anti-Christ perhaps?
