I mean, it's not going to be Geno, and signing Joekel doesn't improve the team. Taking Milliner sure as hell does. It probably makes KC a top 5 defense.

If we picked up Jarius in FA, and drafted Milliner our secondary would be ****ing sick!

Which would be a top 5 defense, and about our only hope for a SB. Let's do it. re-sign Albert and Bowe, restructure Tjax and sign Canty or another vet DE, draft Milliner and sign Byrd. DONE.

For the love of god I would love if we signed byrd and picked milliner I would instantly be happier about this trade for alex smith

Hope is bleeding out here. Give us a reason to reach for a tourniquet.

Our only hope is to trade down and pick up a second rounder. Maybe ARZ or BUF will trade up and we can take anyone at #7 or $8. No one will give us full value to trade up, but if we lower the asking price to the equivalent of the #3 or #4 pick (on the trade value chart) some one might bite. We can still get a fine OT, OG, CB, or WR at #8.

Byrd was franchised....

An interesting proposition, however, since Byrd is franchised is to swap firsts with Buffalo in exchange for Byrd and their first next year. (They won't do it, so we could ask for their second this year...) Based on the value chart, that would work in their favor (not by too much so it is palatable for us).
