http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...louis-riddick- Report: Chiefs want to interview Louis Riddick for G.M. opening Posted by Josh Alper on June 25, 2017, 10:53 AM EDT The Chiefs made waves last week with the surprising announcement that they had dismissed General Manager John Dorsey after four years with the team. The team’s co-directors of player personnel*Mike Borgonzi and Brett Veach are expected to be candidates for a promotion, but the team will be looking outside the organization as well. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Chiefs want ESPN analyst Louis Riddick*to interview*for the job. Riddick was a defensive back for several teams in the 1990s and worked in the personnel departments in Washington and Philadelphia before making the move to TV. Riddick interviewed for the 49ers General Manager vacancy earlier this year before they hired John Lynch. Riddick said he was close to getting that job and,*true or not, it looks like he’s getting another chance to make his case for running an NFL personnel department. |
Cool

Reid crony!
Well he was a 49er and he is black. Sounds like they are checking off a couple of the requirements.
This dude is actually pretty good. Yes he was with Reid in Philly but he knows his football. Just listen to him on NFL live
Intriguing
He was a former scout in Philly and director of player personnel. So he knows his players
Very very smart guy. He's got chops. I like him.
Riddick wanted Josh McDaniels to be his HC if he got the 49ers job...
The good thing about him is he said Mahomes will be the first QB in this draft to win a super bowl.

Clark: "I only have one rule: Never draft a QB in Round 1. Obey that, and your career with this organization will be a long one."
Riddick has called Kareem Hunt a faster Emmitt Smith

So our replacement for Dorsey is a guy who couldn't land a job with the 49ers, losing the job to someone with no front office experience?
I would hope we have a better plan than that. Or are we going back to cronyism again. |
