If you're a huge TOOL fan...
...shouldn't you know about Danny Carey?
I stopped by the liquor store today and the guy tending the place was wearing a TOOL t-shirt. I asked him about his shirt and he said he's a huge fan. We chatted a while and I mentioned that Danny Carey is from Paola and that I played basketball against him in summer leagues at Bell Recreational Center in KCK. The dude was completely baffled. Danny who? |
ROFL Not a huge fan obviously.
|
A childhood friend of mine stepdad was cousins with the guy. They had closets full of TOOL gear, all signed, drums that where signed, all kinds of shit.
All 3 of the brothers now listen to country. WTF! |

You could show a picture of Adam Jones to Tool fans and 8 out of 10 of them wouldn't recognize him.

Which is funny. |
I was really hoping this was some kind of announcement on the new album.
|
I've convinced myself there will never be one.

I'm not sure I buy the lawsuit stuff. I think that's a nice spin on what is Maynard being still relatively disinterested in the Tool project.
I do think there'll be a new Tool album in a few years, but the longer they wait the more pressure they put on themselves - the more they adopt a mindset of "we have to make a great album" vs just making an album and it turning out to be great (which would be preferable for creativity's sake). |
BTW. Danny Carey is filling in for Primus drummer "Herb" Alexander during their fall tour. That would be great to see!
