Woot!

Rain Man 10-23-2012 12:32 PM

The bye week really killed us.

evolve27 10-23-2012 12:43 PM

Landry Jones here we come!

BlackHelicopters 10-23-2012 12:43 PM

How does one out-Cleveland Cleveland?

Rausch 10-23-2012 12:55 PM

As long as we're 4 or above I'm not concerned.

It's when we have to trade up 6-10 picks just to have a shot that would worry me...

good news is that we win the draft tiebreaker with Cleveland so if we both end up with 1 win, we get the 1st pick.

bad news is that we lose the tiebreaker with jacksonville and carolina.

as of right now anyway

we also want to root for the teams they play to win so that their strength of schedule goes up.

suds79 10-23-2012 12:59 PM

This Sunday is huge. Head to head with Oakland. Must lose this.

I have no doubt they'd be in the QB market if they were drafting high enough.

Rain Man 10-23-2012 01:09 PM

You guys realize that Jacksonville's entire team was destroyed yesterday, right? He hurt his foot.

luv 10-23-2012 01:11 PM

I really hadn't paid enough attention to know that there were so many one win teams.

The Chiefs play Cleveland, so they can't both have 1 win.

I guess they could tie.

It's impossible for both us and Cleveland to finish with 1 win. :D

ok,ok,ok ya bastiges ... so if they end up with 2/3/4 wins

the tiebreaker part was the pertinent information

:p

Does the head-to-head count in the tie breaker?

No ... it should but it doesn't

Buck 10-23-2012 01:40 PM

Hell yeah, we made the playoffs!

Dave Lane 10-23-2012 01:41 PM

This Oakland game is a must lose. We need it!

Mr. Laz 10-23-2012 01:41 PM

draft order tiebreakers

1) non-playoff team pick first vs playoff team

2) If the teams were both playoff teams, team eliminated in earlier round picks first.

3) strength of schedule for each team. The team with the weaker SoS measure would pick first

4) If record/SOS tied and are in the same division or conference, use division and conference records to break ties.

5) coin flip determines who goes first.

saphojunkie 10-23-2012 03:42 PM

Picking at #2 is really interesting. Do you trade up for Geno Smith? Or do you assume that someone else trading up is going for Barkley?

I think, at that point, it becomes an insane landscape of teams trying to figure out what each other is doing.

Under no circumstances do I think that Cleveland drafts a QB though.

Not when they still have so many holes to fill on their team. They'd trade down and get as much talent as they can.

I think if you're a team who has identified Geno (or Barkley for that matter) as your guy, you don't take a chance.

You move up one spot and get the QB you want all along.

T-post Tom 10-23-2012 04:05 PM

Can't help but wonder how the QB rankings will change between now and draft day. Geno should be happy that they're not playing K-State again.

By the draft they will have a new owner, GM, front office, coaching staff. The chances they take a QB are as high, if not higher, than us...

If the Browns end up in front of us it is probably a positive since they haven't been able to draft a good QB since......shit I don't know. They can take the QB that wouldn't make it in the NFL anyway so we don't have to worry about that part of it.

If I pick #1 and am not in need of a QB, I trade the #1 pick to the Chiefs(picking #2 in this scenario), and trade the #2 pick to the highest bidder of teams after the remain QB of Geno/Barkley.

Official odds for the overall #1 pick. Rock on!

KC 50%
Jax 22%
Cleveland 12%
NO 8%
Field 8%

KC has a 92% chance of having a top 5 pick.

A train loaded with AIDS-infected monkeys could crash into the stadium and shoot the players with antifreeze-loaded darts, too.

If they aimed for front office types instead of players I could live with this.

Just like the New England Browns!
