Amazon developing its own set top box
Interesting article from Bloomberg...looks like Amazon is going to jump in and try to compete with Apple TV, etc. in the video streaming market:

good, im getting fed up with apple after they ****ed you trying to make generic charging cables not compatible with the iphones. i have like 4 chargers and none of them are compatible since one of the newer updates.
Im going to move away from everything apple when my phone upgrade comes. **** them. |

I love my iphone its a solid machine, but for them to make charging cables not compatible when they were just a few months ago is the last straw for me. |

So even though you have cables and chargers that can be re-used with the addition of a $4 adapter you'd rather switch to something where you can't use the old chargers and cables at all?
Good plan. Back on topic, the Amazon set top box is definitely their next logical move. I agree with Laz, more competition in this area is a good thing. The more people can consider dropping cable, the more they're going to be pushed towards changing their distribution model. |
There's a lot of new Android set top boxes available now too. The cheap ones are junk, but there are many available for ~$100 that are really awesome. They would all play Amazon stuff, plus a lot more.
