Who Should I Start Thread

I didn't see one of these, here we go...

Pick One

Mark Ingram vs WAS
Donald Brown @ CHI
Pierre Thomas vs WAS

I have Adrian Peterson and Darren McFadden, but I'm sitting Peterson week 1. I don't think he's going to play.

Direckshun 09-03-2012 09:26 PM

I'd go with Ingram. He'll punch in a TD or two.

Ceej 09-03-2012 10:02 PM

Good call Buck.

Was thinking about this earlier.

Do you think we should do it on a week to week basis?

Or one for the entire year?

jspchief 09-03-2012 10:06 PM

Bills defense @ Jets
Giants defense vs Cowboys

lewdog 09-03-2012 10:14 PM

Definitely Ingram. This could be a good thread to use the entire year.

I'd say Bills this week..

Hoover 09-04-2012 11:34 AM

My league counts return yards for the offensive positions.

Running Back (I start two)
Matt Forte - Starter

Options for 2nd spot: Hillis, Ingram, Leon Washington

WR (I start two)

Andre Johnson vs Mia - Starter
Julio Jones vs Chiefs - Of course since they play the chiefs

Other options - D Bowe, D. Hester

Offensive player (play one)

OPtions -
D-Bowe vs ATL
Ingram vs WAS
Hillis vs ATL
Hester vs Indy
Dalton vs Baltimore

The Franchise 09-04-2012 11:35 AM

I would go with Bowe. We're going to be down and Cassel is going to force him the ball.

EDIT: I changed my mind. NYJ might have a horrible offense, but they play a “no mistakes” style (a la Matt Cassel and the dump-down offense). NYG are beasts with the QB pressure, and Romo has a history of making dumb mistakes.

Ceej 09-04-2012 08:27 PM

I have Megatron and Cruz.

WR #3 - Boldin, DHB, or Jon Baldwin?

Also, same league..Tamme or Celek? I also have Vick as my QB.

Leaning DHB and Tamme at this time.

rico 09-04-2012 09:05 PM

Ok, help me out. 12 team league. Had the draft Sunday...ended up with 1st overall pick (selected Rodgers) and still ended up with hella-depth. Problem is, I don't know what to do with it right now.

The positions that need filled:

QB
RB1
RB2
WR1
WR2
RB/WR
K
TEAM DEF/ST
TE
IDP
IDP
IDP

Here is my roster:

QB: Aaron Rodgers, Jake Locker
WR: Roddy White, Marques Colston, Miles Austin, Kendall Wright
RB: DeMarco Murray, Fred Jackson, Kevin Smith, Peyton Hillis, David Wilson, Felix Jones
TE: Coby Fleener, Dallas Clark
K: David Akers
Team Def/ST: Seattle and Donkeys
IDP: Sean Lee
IDP: Stephen Tulloch
IDP: Paul Posluszny
IDP: Chad Greenway

These are the positions that I have completely made up my mind in terms of the starters:

QB: Rodgers
RB1: DeMarco Murray
RB2: Fred Jackson
WR1: Roddy White
WR2: ?
WR/RB: ?
TE: Coby Fleener
K: David Akers
Team Def/ST: Seattle
IDP: Sean Lee
IDP: Stephen Tulloch
IDP: Chad Greenway

I need help with the WR2 and RB/WR spots. Can anyone help me? My options for WR2 are Austin, Colston and Wright. I think Wright has potential, especially with Britt missing this week, but I'm going to be patient with him. So that spot is pretty much down to Austin and Colston. Most weeks, I'd start Colston, but I like Austin's match up better (vs. Giants, Colston is vs. Redskins). BUT Austin has a hammy issue. Who do I start?

Then there is the WR/RB spot. My options are Peyton Hillis vs. Falcons, Kevin Smith vs. Rams, Colston/Austin, Kendall Wright vs. Patriots, Felix Jones vs. Giants. I think Smith, Colston/Austin and Hillis will be great options. I think Wright may have potential too, but like I said, I am not gambling with him yet. Who do I plug in to that spot? I watched a Yahoo Fantasy video that listed the 3 "must start" players of week 1.....Kevin Smith was 1 of the 3. Do I start him, or do I start someone else? Please help.... thanks in advance!

lewdog 09-04-2012 09:32 PM

I am in a 10 team league and I totally got ****ed on RBs in the draft. They flew off the board! Anyway, I need help with matches there because none of my backs are standouts.

I can start two RBs

Sproles vs Washington
Ridley vs Tennessee
Green-Ellis vs Baltimore
Hillis vs Atlanta

Not even close.

Brees will be lighting the world on fire against the Skins. You put in Colston and you don't think twice.

Austin is injured.

Go with all Saints. They are going to put up 50 on Washington.

I'd probably go with Green-Ellis, but I hate New England running backs because you can't predict shit.

It's close.

The choice was between BJGE and a New England running back.

So I said go with BJGE, but qualified it by saying I especially hate NE RBs.

I understand it wasn't clear, though. :)

so, I'm in a league with serious players for the first time...8 teams, basic yahoo scoring

for my flex position, I was going to start Maclin...but after watching McCluster become Cassel's binky in preseason I picked him up...

so, which one for flex week 1:

Maclin (vs Cleveland)
McCluster (vs Atl)
Green-Ellis (vs Baltimore)(I'm not convinced he's going to get the same opportunities in Cinci)

my starting roster:

Newton
Rice
Charles
Julio Jones
AJ Green
Brandon Lloyd
Aaron Hernandez
Houston defense
Flex

Why do you feel this way? He's the man in Cincy. I might Dex if it is PPR. Other than that gimme a guy who is going to touch the ball at least 20 times.

I’m pretty sure the backup RB in Cincy is injured. BJGE will get a ton of run, and they have a good O-Line too.

I would love to have BJGE this year, but I opened my big mouth to a friend who grabbed him early in the draft.

Asking again -

Tamme or Celek this week?

I've got Vick too, if that makes any difference.

I've been going back and forth with this one for the past couple of days, so I figure I"ll let you guys decide.

Eli vs the Cowboys tonight or Ryan at KC on Sunday?

Rep to the first five to answer this this evening.

Man, I don't think I could ever quit.

FFL has actually made me watch more games outside of the Chiefs.

I'll typically watch games I'd otherwise have absolutely zero interest in.

There's nothing like a bum day Sunday -- beer in hand, iPAD is on with CBSSPORTS game trackers on, and the Chiefs game up on the ole' boob tube.

Perfect Sunday.

Blech.

You basically have to.

Ceej 09-05-2012 05:40 PM

That's tough. I'm not sure how much MJD plays. Big risk there.

I would probably swap Beanie with MJD, then place Tate or Thomas in flex.

Old Dog 09-05-2012 05:43 PM

I would sart Thomas in the WR/RB slot, but that's far from a sure thing.

Pick two - DeAngelo Williams, McGahee, BJGE..

Shogun 09-05-2012 10:33 PM

probably mcgahee considering ive heard the lack of d line for the steelers this year

noa 09-06-2012 07:04 AM

Williams for sure - I think I heard that Stewart will be out week 1.

Wells easily.

Kraus 09-07-2012 09:57 AM

Flex Spot - P. Hillis or DHB

.5 PPR.

I'm leaning Hillis. I think he'll get 50-60% of the work load this weekend and is more likely the goaline back. ESPN has Hillis predicted for 3.5 points and I think he'll crush that.

rico 09-08-2012 02:20 PM

So Colston is questionable for tomorrow? What are the chances he sits or is extremely limited?

My only other option is Kendall Wright because I had Miles Austin on my bench this weekend....have Roddy White and Colston as my starters.

Ceej 09-08-2012 05:32 PM

Pick one - Baldwin, Boldin, DHB.

Right now I'm leaning towards DHB.

DHB for sure. I think he is being underestimated by people this week. Moore has a lingering injury and Jacoby Ford is injured as well. DHB will get get a lot of balls thrown his way.

Boldin frustrated the crap out of me last year......seemed like he rarely scored TD's and he'd score points for me on 8-15 yard reception at a time...and the receptions were inconsistent.

Baldwin....love the training camp buzz about him making wow catches every day, but IMO he needs to prove more in the games to be a trusted starter on your fantasy team considering the options.

I'd go DHB.

If you are in PPR, go with all the RBs. If not, Id be tempted to play Jackson against a weak NYG secondary.

Burleson and Decker. The Jets defense just scares me a little bit. Brown ends up with Cromartie or Revis. Not a great matchup. We know the Atlanta defense can be burned through the air and Burleson got a good number of looks last week and plays against a SF defense which is VERY strong against the run.

Tough choices.. but I think I would go Law Firm and DeAngelo. Last week was a fluke I think and Carolina will attempt to right the ship by running the ball against NO, which the Redskins had luck with.

I dunno, I usually caution against jumping ship after one week, but that is a tough choice. I would say that St. Louis has a better defense than they are credited for, so that won't be a walk in the park. And SF will completely shut down the running game of the Lions, forcing Stafford to win (or lose) the game. In the end, I would stick with Stafford, based on last years performance. This week was the aberation, not the rule.

Not dumb. Just a gamble, and one that I would be about 50/50 on in a non-PPR league. If you feel it, go with your gut on this one. There is alot of competition in the NO backfield and it seemed like Sproles didn't get many opportunities in the game in the passing game, which is his bread and butter.

I went with Lloyd last week and got burned...I think all of the Patriots' tds are going to their TEs. But Maclin is facing Baltimore and Vick looked like shit.

oh, and I picked up Britt for my bench...anyone think he'll come around? I'm holding off for a couple of weeks to see

I'm in a bit of a quandary this week.

Romo
Foster
______
Cruz
Welker
Wallace
______
Akers
Balt D.

I need to pick a RB #2 and a Flex.

Options at RB -- Stewart, DeAngelo, Helu, Taiwan Jones, Dwyer
Options at FLEX -- Garcon (DTD), Stewart, DeAngelo, DHB, Cribbs

We get return yardage points -- and no PPR.

Right now I'm leaning with DeAngelo as RB#2 and DHB at FLEX if Garcon is unable to play.

Maclin if he plays, if not I don't mind Lloyd this week.

Gotta be Bowe in that one and I am not a Chief homer.
