Drugs and alcohol
Would you support the legalization of weed if it meant making alcohol illegal?
|
sure, why not. as long as drug tests were illegal too.
:) |
Sure, it's easier to brew your own beer and Rum

not to get completely DC/off-track, but the fact that weed is illegal is reeruned.
and I haven't smoked in probably 20 years. |
where is the abstain from both option? :bolt:
|
Having done both, alcohol is far more dangerous when abused.

I voted no. I'm not a fan of either, but the smell of marijuana makes me nauseous. If people are drinking alcohol it doesn't impact me unless they kill me with their car. If people are smoking marijuana it pervades the air around them and makes me sick. And I live in Denver, so I know what I'm talking about.

I think it's interesting that the poll is split exactly down the middle, btw. |
Next poll idea:
Would you allow the gubbment to ban knives if they back off Gun Control? |

It's a classic case of having two scenarios: something really bad that's really rare, or something that's slightly bad that's common. In my case, I think the more common thing has a bigger lifestyle impact when you play the odds. |

I have no problem with the current setup.
|
I don't drink or drug anymore, so whatever.

Would you want the bus driver taking your kids to school to be stoned?

Most people don't have family get togethers and start smoking weed. Do you really want to be breaking the law to have wine at your Christmas dinner?

My bus driver back in school was an alcoholic.... |

How about you do your work sober and then do your business on your own time? That sounds like a very American thing to do if you ask me.

Voted no, but there is no good reason for weed to be illegal.
I still have no clue why they don't legalize it. The tax revenue alone would pull us out of debt in a remarkably short time. |

That's only because there aren't any horses in Florida. |

maybe it would even give the Mexican Government a chance to take control of their country. |
If I could come home from work and legally smoke a bowl instead of drink a couple beers to wind down that would be awesome. I would sleep better and late night tv would be funnier.

obviously, alcohol is far more dangerous drug to societies.
I would firmly support a prohibition ban :D I would also support transferring those 60% of drug war prisoners in american prisons into medically staffed nut houses equipped to handle and rehabilitate them -- and for far less a burden to our tax system. |
I drink too often to be ok with that trade..
But I do recognize the fact that alcohol is basically poison and much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much more dangerous (to you and everyone else) when abused. I can't ****ing believe weed is still illegal after all these years. |
the WOD is the impetus of all gun legislation and impending WOT legislation.
|
I would be for that if it could be purchased from stores like alcohol and there wasn't an outrageous tax on it. I guess I'm just all about convenience and not getting taxed to death.

I support Lumpy taking selfies

Closest poll in history.

Id support mushrooms over alcohol...just for personal preference. Never been a huge fan of weed.

though the whole 'pot makes you lazy' is invalid if you ask me
I worked with the hardest working dude ever and he was a huge pothead...when he was high he'd make a lot of mistakes, though...but his work ethic was impeccable |
So Saul, what other drugs have you become addicted to after you fell in love with the gateway drug that is marijuana, and why do you want the rest of us to become a crackhead like you?

shrooms combined with drinking is much better |

Don't combine anything with drinking. Booze ruins it. |
Not interested in making drinking illegal but the number of people who can't control it and the extent to which it effects their lives while that process gets glorified is always shocking.

I like my booze on the weekends and rarely smoke , but weed is far less harmful to society in general IMO.

48% said yes...WTF...No alcohol during tailgating and social events? Come on now

Weed takes a few hits to get a head change, and typically a joint costs about $5 that you can share with a group of people.
It takes about 6 beers to get me buzzed, and then I'm bloated and I wake up with a headache the next day. 6 beers at a restaurant or bar is about $25+. |
Oohh...that's a tough one. I'd say yes simply because I'm 100% sure that it's the less harmful of the two drugs in terms of impact on personal health and societal health both.
However, it's really not realistic to think that alcohol will ever be illegal in this country again. There's way too much money tied up in it to think you could actually shut it down. Not to mention the fact that prohibition of either of them is useless. |
