Chiefs interested in Josh Cribbs?

http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2015/6...as-city-chiefs

Free agent receiver and returner Josh Cribbs named the Kansas City Chiefs among the teams keeping an eye on him, according to this from ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Talked to Josh Cribbs today. He has a few inquiries (Jags, Pats, Chiefs). Still wants to play but is open to retirement</p>&mdash; Jeremy Fowler (@JFowlerESPN) <a href="https://twitter.com/JFowlerESPN/status/614454170989535233">June 26, 2015</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

It should be noted that an inquiry doesn't tell us what level of interest there is. If the Chiefs wanted to sign him, they could sign him. And they haven't.

Cribbs' best receiving season came in 2011 when he had 41 receptions for 518 yards. That was nearly double his previous career highs so I wouldn't look at him as much of a receiver. He's more of a returner where he had eight kick return touchdowns in his first five years in the league. That was a long time ago although Cribbs did lead the league with an average of 32 yards per kick return on 19 attempts last season with the Colts.

Cribbs came into the league in 2005 and spent his first eight seasons in Cleveland. In the past two seasons he has bounced around from the Raiders, Jets and Colts.

Goodbye Joe McKnight, Hello Josh Cribbs!

But yeah, no... lets see what turns up after camp cuts instead.

Joe McKnight was already dead.

I killed him.

He's never coming back. Ever.

Exactly. Usually when a player mentions retirement as an option - he is DONE.

Cribbs is toast. Trust me, I watched Colts games last year.

His speed is gone and curiously, so is his decision making. I've never seen worse decisions from a returner.

And he still averaged 32 years a return to lead the league?

Zach Thomas signed and retired.

giving your team starting field position on average from about the 30 = bad decision making? if thats what bad decisions are then sign me up. Smith could dink and dunk the other 70 yards.

I'd rather get aids

Thanks.

On May 18, 2010 Thomas signed a one-day ceremonial contract, officially worth $1, in order to retire as a member of the Miami Dolphins.

Damn a $1 didn't know they get money for a one day contract.
