One in Three Americans Think God Affects Sports Results

How come you never hear a guy say "We would have won, but Jesus made me fumble!" ???

30% of Americans think God determines the outcome of sporting events. What do you think?

Story is here:

http://publicreligion.org/research/2...acking-poll-2/

Scorp 02-03-2013 10:14 AM

Because those 30% don't even know the internet exists!

GloryDayz 02-03-2013 10:14 AM

1 in 3 are idiots!

Strongside 02-03-2013 10:15 AM

If God is busy swaying sports in one direction or another, he's got some real priority issues. The starving babies in Africa are pissed.

noa 02-03-2013 10:15 AM

God must really hate Kansas City

hometeam 02-03-2013 10:17 AM

I don't want to live on this planet anymore~

Pablo 02-03-2013 10:21 AM

LMAO

Of course they do.

hometeam 02-03-2013 10:26 AM

I would be interested to see how many pro atheletes think god affects the outcome of the game. My bet is its higher than 1/3.

Part of the reason I didn't keep playing football in high school was because of the pervasive nature of GOD in our team meetings, player meetings, before the game, after the game, before and after practice. On and on and on. At the time I was a closest atheist and it just wore me out. The stupidity was mind numbing.

People buy into this shit hook line and sinker, and if you have a different opinion (you know, one that didn't rely on wishes and fairy tales) you are RIPE for victimization.

For the same reason why it's never "God's will" whenever someone shoots up a workplace or 10,000 kids starve to death daily.

All of the credit for the good, none of the blame for the bad.

Well there are some coward ****wads in Topeka who seem to seem to every bad thing that happens is indeed God's will. I can't wait for God to **** each of them in the ass with a pine tree!

These are the same type of idiots that come on here starting prayer threads asking for a job. They must imagine "god" sitting around going "hmmmm 16 million dead in Africa from aids, that can wait, I've got to get this idiot on chiefsplanet a job".

cosmo20002 02-03-2013 01:13 PM

Some people are taking the "Hail Mary" pass a little too seriously.

We've not embraced it much here in KC. Come to think of it, we never throw more than a few yards down-field just to stay safe! Throwing to the sticks is just not OK in previous years in KC!!!

Do you still have to take a piss in heaven? How many people are in heaven now? It's got to be like in the trillions. That's a lot of piss. What about pooping? Is there any where in the Bible that talks about if you still piss and poop in the afterlife?

Your IQ definitely fits the profile.

Thig Lyfe 02-03-2013 03:33 PM

If you're willing to believe in something as ridiculous as God, you might as well believe He influences sporting events, too.

listopencil 02-03-2013 06:17 PM

That's ridiculous. I know it's all about which hat/jersey I wear.

If you are a firm believer, no doubts whatsoever, then you have to believe that God is not going to be concerned whether you catch a pass, hit a home run or your team wins or loses.

If you are a true believer surely you would believe that God has more important things to do than dictate winners and losers in a game.

Spott 02-03-2013 10:30 PM

If God actually cares about football, then the only thing I know for sure is that he sure as hell isn't a Chiefs fan.

CrazyPhuD 02-03-2013 10:50 PM

Duh...why do you think the Niners lost???? It's all the sodomy!!!

Oh wait...but that doesn't really explain why the giants won.....:cuss:
