Anyone replace a battery on a ipod touch?
My ipod doesnt even hold a charge anymore. it lasts like 30 min. I bought a battery online and am waiting for it. Just wondering if anyone had any dealings with opening them up and replacing a battery.

That's a pain in the ass.... I'm pretty sure you'll need a soldering iron to complete it. You'll also need an iPhone tool, which might come with your battery. Usually they'll throw in the little tool with parts you buy like this. The kit is something like this:

Here's a step by step guide I found: http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/iPod+Tou...acement/9829/1 Here's a video showing almost the same thing: <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/X1B5iu3ILkY?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Good luck... |
Oi, have fun. Be sure to remove all firearms and sharp objects from the house prior to starting.

i dont have much of a choice. I have to at least try it. i ordered it with the tools, but i have a little screw driver kit.
I know its a pain in the ass. its either at least try, or put out another 170 bucks for another one. |
Apple would replace it for $79.
