Official SF Giants Thread

Pretty exciting stuff going on this year. From the perfect game to 36 consecutive innings of scoreless pitching and 4 games of shutout baseball and counting with Cain pitching tonight. This team is a closer and a shortstop away from having real shot. Nothing like baseball on the bay. GO GIANTS!!!

90 percent of posts in this thread will be people slamming the Giants

BD has to be the biggest front-runner on this board. Over the years when I have just mentioned baseball while the Giants were .500 or less, or out the playoffs the reply has been 1 of the following...

"F... MLB. I hate they way they are scapegoating Bond."
"My son did a roundhouse. I dont follow baseball."
"I am too busy at work to follow baseball."
"Save the baby pit bulls"

This assclown actually called up the local sports radio am show and sang the following song:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nj4OtfrC2N4

If anyone wants to hear the voice behind BD's rants, listen. Pathetic.

BIG_DADDY 06-29-2012 12:56 PM

You guys might remember MOJO. He was a big time Chiefs fan before he was a Chargers fan. I have no idea where his fair weather flights are taking him these days. Still trying to attach himself to greatness I would imagine.

Mojo Rising 06-29-2012 01:02 PM

I root for the local So Cal teams. Dodgers, Lakers, Chargers.

Like you do. Giants, Lakers and Chiefs. I understand you have Oregon roots and that explains Giants and Chiefs as there was no local team but how did you get the Lakers? Running with the pack?

YOu used to be a huge Chiefs fan and switched teams, come on man.

YOu know I was born in KC and how I became a Lakers fan. We have had this conversation at length. Nice attempt at a flip though. I am not going down this road with you bud, have a nice weekend.

whoman69 06-29-2012 02:55 PM

No wonder you don't care about roids, you used to root for the biggest roid user of them all.

When last years true MVP returns and we make a couple of pick ups at the trade deadline we will be in 1st place again! Dont get too comfy.

You have a nice w/e too!

I'm looking at my Bonds Jersey on the back of my door right now. I love wearing that bad boy. He was a lot of fun to watch.

Cheater5 06-29-2012 03:50 PM

Don't mind the Gigantes as a NL team. My sis moved out there 18 years ago (no lesbo-calm down) and works in the front office for the team. Been to many games at AT&T ballpark and a few Emerald Nut Bowls between some crappy ass college football teams. Good stadium. But I think the serve sushi at the concession stands if I remember correctly; good beer though.

Pasta Little Brioni 06-29-2012 04:42 PM

Why the hell would one jump ship TO the Chargers?

Mojo Rising 06-29-2012 05:13 PM

Grew up in KC and became a Chiefs fans going to Arrowhead. Moved to the Bay Area and stayed a Chiefs fan. Didn't see myself settling there long-term. I moved to So Cal to be closer to family. Dont see myself living anywhere else so I converted to the Chargers as I wanted to be a fan of the local team. I like going to games.

I might have to switch again if a team moves to LA as I have been dis-appointed in the newspaper/news, sports talk coverage of the Chargers.

3 game sweep of the Giants in SF. The Giants lineup is looking pretty enemic. 2 shutouts in a row! The Ramirez addition is looking pretty good. I expect that LA will add another bat and another starter. 1st place is our again!

Well that was short lived there Moho. Looks like another sweep for the Giants in LA.

Pitching has to be spot on and the bats have to be live to push now.

I never understood why they didn't go out and get a closer before the deadline, it is a huge problem

I wished I believed that. I am just hoping Casilla tightens up his game. He has potential but seeing that come to fruition by the end of this season is a stretch.

DonTellMeShowMe 08-22-2012 11:20 PM

Glad we closed it out, big finish to the so cal road trip!

BIG_DADDY 08-22-2012 11:21 PM

And that's the name of that tune. There was nobody there at the end of the game but they made it sound like the shark tank during the playoffs, WTF was that all about?

Wow. #RedSox #Dodgers from @GordonEdes: RT/working on deal that send AGon, Crawford, Beckett & Punto to LA. Hurdles remain, but closing in.

BIG_DADDY 09-17-2012 11:22 PM

Well I think that's a wrap. Seeing the Dodgers throw away a quarter bill makes it that much sweeter. I am looking forward to the playoffs. Be nice to see Posey get that MVP after the injury, first catcher since Bench if he pulls it off.

I'm just not feeling the love in here.

BIG_DADDY 10-05-2012 05:05 PM

Stoked about the playoffs. The A's have had one hell of a run too. It would be awesome to have a bay series again except this time without the earthquake.

BIG_DADDY 10-11-2012 04:39 PM

Wow, what an amazing series. Bought lunch for the whole staff and watched it on the big screen today. Buster Posey is the shit.

I am a big time Giants fan but am still hoping for the second miracle comeback and an A's win tonight.

What an amazing post season. By the time the Series started Detroit ran into a buzz saw. They can be good for a long time too.

Nickel D 10-29-2012 09:34 AM

Not a fan of either the Giants or the Tigers, but rooted for the Giants solely because their front office and coaching staff made a huge statement by leaving Melky "Got 'Roids?" Cabrera off of the post-season roster when they had the opportunity to add him onto it.

BTW, the FBI and Interpol have officially listed "The 2012 St. Louis Cardinals World Champions" thread as missing and presumed dead.

After a lack luster season to say the least don't be shocked if they ink Timmy to a long term contract in the offseason.
