Hypothetical: Trading up for Geno.

I'm bored.....and I'll probably catch shit for this....but whatever.

Here is the scenario:

You are the Chiefs GM. You are taking ANY OTHER position but QB with the #1 overall pick because you know, without a shadow of a doubt, that you can trade back up into the 1st round....say 15-20 range for Geno Smith. Not only can you trade up to get him....but it's really only going to cost you your high 2nd round pick and a swap of picks in the 4th.

So....who do you take with the #1 pick?

Canofbier 02-08-2013 01:06 PM

Silly scenario, but I ended up choosing Milliner, even though he's probably not worth taking #1 overall. Lotulelei would probably be the better pick, but I'm goddamned sick of taking defensive line early in the draft. Plus, our lackluster CB play has been a big problem since Carr left.

Oh....and don't rape me, SNR.

RealSNR 02-08-2013 01:19 PM

In the interest of playing this game by its intended rules, I'd take Damontre Moore

Hey, you're the one who gave me an out in the poll.

Damnt....I forgot the Manti Te'o selection.

How can you "know" that Geno Smith will last to 15-20?

Because I'm hypothetical time traveler.

Fat Elvis 02-08-2013 03:32 PM

I'd trade back a bit in the first round and pick up another pick in the second and a first next year.

Get back to your hypothetical thread if you want to try that bullshit.

Dee Milliner but Sheldon Richardson would be very entertaining. I think he's easily going in the top 10.

NJChiefsFan 02-09-2013 01:16 AM

Milliner hits the need, that or Moore since Milliner probably isn't BPA here, even with need factored in.

Sfeihc 02-09-2013 06:49 AM

Simple one here, if the Chiefs resign Albert then Star is the choice if not then Uncle Luke would be the pick.

Saccopoo 02-09-2013 10:18 AM

You take Geno and then take David Amerson with your second rounder. Same guy as Milliner and was the better player at CB in 2011. He gambled a bit more in 2012, but Amerson has all the tools to be elite.
