I jumped into a glow stick / bendy glow rope thingies once whilst on LSD as a young lad.
wind, g-forces; like riding down a covered water slide. when I cam out of the tube, I discovered that I had been 'in' it for 45 minutes.
LMAO

There's a reason i only did LSD probably 5 times. and the final time was tripping balls for a good 10 hours. yeah....nothing that fun can be good for you lol. Ah....youth.

How about this: you wave your hand at someone so that your hand went back and forth once every three seconds. Someone is taking pictures of you every three seconds. If you looked at those pictures back-to-back, it would just look like you're holding your hand in the same place each time.

The same thing applies to the water here, except that instead of waving once every three seconds, it's doing it 24 times every 1 second. The camera is the person "taking pictures", except that it's also doing it 24 times per second (since that's the speed it records at).

Does that make sense?

Wow both of those explanations where perfect.

Almost gave me flashbacks of Physics 201 from last year.

REPPED!

By recording the water 24 times per second, though, you really only see the water in the same position during each of its "waves", so to the camera it looks like it's holding still in mid-air.

Leave it to Twitter and that stupid "I ****ing love science" Facebook group to strip science down to "OMG THIS LOOKS KEWL <3 IM SUCH A NERD LOL".

I'm confused why you would be angry about this.

This is exactly how that 'upward spiral' spray fountain works out at the K (the one that's turned on whenever a Royals player smacks a homer).

It's not used that much so you may not have ever seen it in action.
