To this day... if I give Pioli more than just a cursory thought, while flipping though my mental memory book of Chiefs history, I still feel anger/hatred course through me.

The only thing better than him being fired would have been if Clark had been able to fire him "with cause" and invalidate the rest of his contract instead of the buyout that actually took place.

Big difference.

Yeah but did Baldwin even make one noticeable play? No the catch that didn't count shouldn't count as one.

This. Although I was so jaded after squirmin Herman mother****ing sack of **** Edwards that my hatred of ol' Squirmin Herman is far higher. That son of a bitch stole a lot of my love for football. A huge amount of it.

The disgusting thing about it is that I'm busy enough that I doubt I'll ever be that into football again. It really grinds my gears because football was the root of so much joy in my life and he killed it. That mother****ing one who sucks the penis. **** him and his dumbass arrogant know nothing **** ass. ****.

I remember some idiot posted we had to trade for Cassel bc drafting a QB means we would be getting the 1st overall pick and we couldn't have that.

Baldwin. What a pathetic pick. Cassel and wasting two number ones on bums is Pioli's legacy in KC.

Fisher and Ford will be completely different.

I'm sure of it...

I'm not. I'm saying it's exactly the same...

The Talking Can didn't do himself in favors during this particular era of Chiefs history either.

I owned up to the stupidity. I always have. I turned on them around year 3. I took a wait and see approach and was completely wrong. I deserve any shit for this.

We all have our dumb moments. Sanchez. Geno. Hell, haven't heard anyone own up to the ridiculous criticism of Herm... I was his only defender.

I ate the turd-burger on that as well.

I knew his weaknesses and still pimped him because I loved his draft swagger.

What's ironic is that if Pioli had taken Houston with the 2011 #1 overall pick, Houston would be in his fifth year, there'd have been little contractual drama with him in 2015 and Pioli's drafts would look to be far more favorable. Jackson, Berry, Houston and Poe. Three out of four hits is pretty damn good.

The problem, of course, is that he didn't choose Houston in the first round. Berry was a no brainer, he made a very poor choice, after trading back, in Jon Baldwin and his 2-7 round picks (not to mention free agency acquisitions) were fairly bad, if not downright awful.

The only real risk he ever took that has paid any dividends is the selection of Poe. But considering that half the pundits said he would be a beast and half said he was a raw project, that risk was far less than advertised due to Pioli's propensity to choose lineman, especially defensive lineman, during his tenure in KC and New England.

At the end of the day, it was just Pioli being Pioli.

I still believe he was ridiculously criticized. I never pimped his coaching ability. I knew he wasn't a good coach. But in the end, he moved the chiefs in a very good direction which is more than you can say for pioli. Even his biggest haters acknowledged that when they realized Herm basically built piolis 2010 playoff team.

I've actually listened to a few events he was hired to speak at.

He's a really good motivational speaker.

He (was) damned good at identifying talent.

He was a dog eating it's own feces to avoid scolding on game day. No, WE were that dog with him coaching on game day...

Yeah, I refuse to go back and look up some of the silly shit I've said about this team and its coaches and players. I hate seeing just how wrong I was, haha.

I still think he could be among the better college coaches in the country.

USC was reportedly very interested in hiring him but he never interviewed for the job, which to me says that he no longer has the passion to coach.
