I'm not sure Stripes would be considered unsung, but I'll endorse it anyway as well.

Also Brewster's Millions.

That one movie where this scrawny kid who gets picked on has this old man tell him to wax his car and stuff next thing you know he teaches him some karate moves.

Next thing you know the timid, weak kid that acts like he is afraid of his own shadow gets in a karate tournament.

The child gets beat up by this other dude a lot in the tournament then the kid acts like a chicken and kicks his butt. i cried at the end.

cardken2 12-09-2012 02:29 AM

Tom Boy (Betsy Russell) quality on screen image.
Up The Creek Tim Matheson hilarious, and Jennifer Runyon to boot..nice.
Adventures In Babysitting , young and hot Elizabeth Shue and Lolita Dovidovich.
Three O Clock High best underrated film of all time.

True story.

I also told the wife she could do whatever else the **** she wanted wedding weekend but she:

1) Had to know the basic difference between the 3-4 and 4-3.
2) Would never plan or ask anything of me that would prevent me from watching the Chiefs game.
3) I got to take 1/2 the wedding photos with my Chiefsplanet hat on...

I see a lot of movies that were popular at the time.

Movies that weren't hits that I love:

Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid - A great Steve Martin Movie. Especially if you love old fiilm Noir.

Unfaithfully Yours- Dudley Moore in a movie where he tries to kill the man he thinks is his wife's lover.

After Hours- A rare Martin Scorsese comedy.

scho63 12-09-2012 11:08 AM

Dutch
Problem Child
The Secret of My Success
Let it Ride

DaneMcCloud 12-11-2012 02:15 AM

Gotcha

Well cast, great cinematography, excellent East-West tension, amazing story with limitless sequel possibilities. The characters and locations were as much a part of the story as the character.

I should buy the rights.

:)

Loved Big Trouble In Little China. Although I didn't find it to be much of a comedy.

Is that the one where Belushi recruits Ritter to do some secret agent stuff? Had never heard of that but I caught that late one night and actually enjoyed it.

That's what I consider genuinely unsung: Few have seen it or heard of it. There's a lot of good movies on this thread, but most are fairly well known.

I think I first saw "Three O'Clock High" in a video store, it sounded interesting and rented it. Very good movie.

Baby Lee 12-11-2012 12:04 PM

It was a 1992 film, but what it loses in not being an 80s film it more than makes up for in being vastly underrappreciated. Can't say underrated, as most everyone who has actually seen it rate it highly.

Noises Off.
