The play-by-play guy is from FOX... the analyst is Bert Blyleven from the Twins. Sometimes FOX will pair their announcers with the local analyst... why it's Bert and not Rex, I don't know.

Okay now, all things being equal, Blanton has pitched good since the 1st inning, our bats have to wake the **** up and capitalize...it isn't like 3 runs is insurmountable

There are a lot of baseball people who would argue that you should be aggressive at the first pitch in that situation because he might try to just get one over. That's baseball, you can have 5 different opinions on how to handle one situation.

I remember reading a book about Tony LaRussa's Cardinals where it mentioned their philosophy was to be aggressive in scoring situations like that. Always go after the first pitch fastball instead of waiting to hit a 1 or 2-strike breaking pitch.
