"I went into that game feeling like we could score anytime," Reid told "The Around the NFL Podcast" at the NFL Annual League Meeting in Orlando last month. "Once I got into the game, I felt the same thing."

Reid isn’t the least bit shy about what he thinks he has in Mahomes

In one of the interviews with Andy during the meetings last week he made a comment that still makes me giddy. He said, "I probably shouldn't be this excited in March." We are all right there with you, Andy. This is shaping up to be a fun year with many more of those in the future!

Pat was making insane throws with touch and accuracy in that game while getting immediately pressured.

I don’t blame Andy at all. He’s probably had a stiffy like the rest of us since that game.

Never seen the guy this excited since he got here

It's like Mom has been giving you oatmeal for breakfast every morning for the last 5 years. You eat it and it's alright. Does the trick. Then one day she brings home a box of Count Chocula and you realize there is a whole new, glorious world out there. And you realize that you get to have that for breakfast moving forward, and you flushed all that oatmeal down the toilet where it belonged.

Something I was convinced I wouldn't live to see. So glad I am wrong.

Mahomes' first NFL completion was thrown 35 yards, straighter than a clothesline and into a window smaller than one of Reid's famous Hawaiian shirts. Quarterbacks have gone entire, productive careers in the NFL without making a throw that good. The belief that Reid shows in Mahomes -- the Chiefs called passes on the game's first three plays -- is nothing compared to how much Mahomes trusts his arm.

Beautiful.

I have waited a lifetime
Spent my time so foolishly
But now that I've found you
Together we'll make history

ROFL That’s a perfect analogy.

Matt Cassel was like a shit sandwich for breakfast every morning.

Alex Smith was oatmeal with no brown sugar in it.

Mahomes is the Cinnamon Toast Crunch!!!

man, it's going to be a hell of a letdown if he busts or gets hurt

like a "I probably won't even watch football anymore" type letdown

That's not saying much...even Mark Castle could hit the broadside of a barn...that's a BIG target
